Congratulations to your OH Birdie! My OH was quite cross I didn't tell him when I took my first test :o but I couldn't handle the pressure of anyone else knowing! I still haven't driven since I passed though, I'm insured on OH's car but it has a flat tyre, he has said he'll sort it this weekend but its quite big and I'm scared of it! Its a bit mean looking!

I wish I could pay in tinsel too! Our cats think our tree is their personal climbing frame so I wrap it in masses of tinsel to try to disguise its poor scrawny frame!

Nice to see you Starnac, glad you and your family are well.

You have put me in the mood for wrapping presents now!

I thought it was only me that had strange dreams Bridie :rotfl: if only we could pay for things with tinsel, I have lots :D

Even if I could pay with tinsel, I'd be on a budget. We have hardly any in our house! :p

I'd be screwed if we did get to pay with tinsel IRL, we don't have it in our home! ;) I hate the feeling of it, but then I hate the feel of fake trees too so I'm just probably a bit odd about Christmas decorations! :o

    Hey - that's what I just said! :p

I'm not going to my work's christmas do either. I'm feeling really anti-social and it won't be much of a hardship to miss it as I'm not too friendly with the people I work with anyway after the way they all behaved in the summer towards another member of staff. Maybe me and the baby will have our own Christmas party!!

Me either. Someone called me "a miserable git!"

I nearly replied with "Why would I want to spend my hard earned money, in my free time with people I don't like?" :P

Urgh he really is useless! Just sent him a text saying I've found some on Amazon with great reviews, good price, can be delivered tomorrow... but no, he'd rather have a look round the shops to find the perfect pair, but that means I have to go with him and I wanted to spend the morning at our local museum that's doing a special 'Victorian Christmas in the Workshouse' day, I can't resist people all dressed up doing re-enactments, especially when tickets are only £3 and include refreshments! ;) I'd better get treats for being a nice wifey and going on a rubbish boot hunt with him instead!

I was lucky when I passed my test because I had my own car that I'd been driving for months anyway; my first solo drive was scary but not too bad as I was familiar with the car, think it would have taken me a lot longer to go out on my own if I wasn't driving a car I was comfortable in! Once you get in the car I'm sure you'll be fine though Shrimpy, it just takes a bit of getting used to! :)

Greenie/Starnac, I used to be like that in my old workplace, we'd go on nights out then after a while we stopped as we all realised that we'd rather spend our money on going out with our *actual* friends rather than people we're just forced to spend time with every day! I'm only going to this 'do' because I don't have to pay for it! ;) The worst thing about work parties is that the majority of people who go generally can't talk about anything but work... boring!
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

I bought my first car not long after I passed my test as I had money saved to buy one. I'd hardly driven it and never on my own when my mum asked me to pop into a shop about 30 mins away to pick something up for her. I panicked as I had never driven on my own before and rang my friend and forced her to come with me so I had company in the car. Don't quite know how that made driving easier but it did

Well done to your OH Birdie! I didn't know when OH was taking test either just got a call to say he passed!

Hope you manage to find the boots quickly, doesn't sound like much fun.

Anyone got anything nice planned this weekend? We were going to winter wonderland sunday but looks like might be raining so will see if my mum wants to go tomorrow or we might go after christmas.

DD and DH went to see Santa today on a school trip. She loved it. We spent last night writing her list to give to him today. Her writing is really coming on now. All I had to do was spell out the words and she knew what each letter looked like and wrote them really well. (for a 4yo!)

This weekend there's a medieval/christmas market in town so we'll be going there tomorrow. Not sure what else. Not much exciting anyway.

Hope everyone else has an exciting weekend
