Whizzing in to say hi! I do not get the Coke advert thing AT ALL, my facebook and twitter feeds were full of it over the weekend - that and the John Lewis ad which I haven't seen yet but can only be a disappointment now after all the fuss.
Phew. Anyway. I'm doing hopeless on the November Challenges (she says chomping on a Greggs ham and cheese roll- I've brought a packed lunch like once), how about everyone else? When work is as busy as it is at the mo and I don't stop from 8 til 6 I feel like my head's still spinning by the time I get home and I never seem to be able to get myself together to organsie internet banking or packed lunches or anything, I hate it
Does anyone else carry work 'chaos' (rather than just stress) into their home life or just me?
Ooh right well now that I've come in and had a big moan I'll see you later!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Err I can't even remember all of my November goals which may mean I'm not doing too well!
I made some more cards yesterday so that's something I suppose, although I ought to be making presents! I'm struggling with the computery craft jobs I need to do (labels for vodka, weekly planner etc) as our new lappy has the latest version of office and I'm used to the 2003 version (both at home and work) so I can't get on with it at all and I don't have the time or patience to get used to it!
We've got the old version on a memory stick somewhere so I'll have to dig it out before I have a breakdown!
I can't explain the Coke Ad 'thing', it's just that when I was younger it always felt like Christmas was truly on its way when we heard that song; we'd run around the house shouting 'Turn to channel 3/4/5!' the first time we saw it!I always look forward to the M&S advert each year (my favourite was from a few years ago when it had Patrick Stewart on) so I'm really disappointed with this year's offering since it's the X Factor goons ruining a perfectly good song.
Not too mad on the John Lewis ad, it's quite sweet but both OH and I thought that it was going to end up being for the NSPCC or something as it gets to the heart-warming ending in quite a weird way!
I'm with you on the chaotic work/chaotic life thing too Tete, not so much at my current job but in my old one sometimes there was just so much to do and remember and sort out that my brain was fried by the time I got home and I could barely eat tea never mind worry about everything else!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. I get the coke ad thing but I saw the John Lewis one last night and didn't really get what all the fuss was about tbh. Most of the Christmas ads are awful this year, especially the one with the kids singing - it is for Littlewoods? Basically saying how Mum had spent a fortune on gifts for everyone that year and that's why they loved her! Shocking!
Were you surprised about Amelia Birdie? I didn't see it on Sat but caught most of the repeat, I liked her in the auditions so am glad she got another shot, although I kind of miss Frankie! I wasn't surprised one jot. Wouldn't shock me if she won it now. I just want Janet off then it may be more bearable to watch.
Last night I was talking to OH about Christmas presents and he's now decided that he wants to buy his own wellies as he doesn't want something so practical/boring for his main present, nor does he want to wait until the 25th December to wear them if it gets wet/cold/snowy! Whilst it's good that I've freed up a bit of the present budget I've got no idea what to get him for his big present now!
Oh and my cheap KG bracelet for SIL arrived today, in an enormous box the size of a man's shoe box and the bracelet is packaged in a tiny little gold padded envelope rattling around inside, utter madness!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Oops think it was me clogging up the facebook about the ads haha. Love the coke advert as it means christmas is nearly here and the John lewis one makes me all emotional but i do find since having poppy stuff like that makes me cry. The bit where the little boy is jiggling his leg and his dad pushes it down reminds me of my dad and me , as he does the same!
I though amelia is better than some still in comp so was glad she went back in.
Had a busy day today . Went to baby group this morning then into town with OH and then food shopping. Bought Poppy some new clothes as OH's Dad gave me some money to get her some for christmas.0 -
I may have been a bit quick to judge the John Lewis one as I was only half watching, considering I cry at The Biggest Loser every week without fail I'm surprised it didn't have more of an emotional pull!
My gloves came this morning too in an equally huge box! They're very nice, warm and a good fit, but also fluffier than I imagined.Barclaycard [STRIKE]£7,296.35[/STRIKE] £6134.99 - MBNA [STRIKE]£4,182.88[/STRIKE] £3267.08 - O/draft [STRIKE]£569.31[/STRIKE] £413.59 - Capital One [STRIKE]£1477.55[/STRIKE] £1451.44Total debt [STRIKE]£12048.54[/STRIKE] £11267.10 6% paid0
