We have a guy coming about installing the stove this afternoon - I'm really excited. Would be fantastic to have it in before Christmas and would really help us cut down on the heating bills over winter too.

BP tablets are playing merry hell with me, I feel extremely dizzy and sick all the time (like that drunk feeling where you feel like the world is bending away from you) - last night it felt almost like a migraine but without the searing pain. It tends to be worse morning and evening, so I'm very hopeful that by getting home a bit early today for the fireplace man I might get a good hour or two before the feeling awful kicks in. Would like to get a few bits on ebay as we could use the cash, but equally I would like to get more of the ironing done. Will have to see how I feel.

    Oooh a stove, how cosy!

Not so good about the BP tablets though, hope that wears off quickly, can't be fun. :(

Sounds like you're making great headway with the DIY Lara... we're more like DI-Don'ts in our home! Everything I touch goes wrong so I've given up! I tried to paint a little cardboard drawer set thing last week, thinking I'd get away with it since it was more 'craft' than 'DIY' but it went massively wrong and looks awful! Gutted.

I completely forgot to say over the weekend: Congratulations on passing the theory test CMD! And Greenie made me snort-laugh with the hopeful suggestion that Tete may be knitting her an R2D2 hat! Why not just buy one?!

You've given me an idea Birdie. I want something knitting but can't knit... Etsy has a commission system doesn't it?! I might see if anyone will make this for me.

They do indeed, which I think is genius BTW! :)

I was impressed with my little self last night, made a record bowl for my Dad, looks awesome! OH looked at it and said 'There's a hole in the bottom'... 'It's not for cereal you know! It's for trinkets'... jeez... :p

I love all the Christmas talk! Even though my Christmas is going to be strange this year..

Congratulations CMD on the theory test! You're like superwoman doing so much with two very small children.

Lol @ your OH Birdie and the record bowl! :D I wish I was as creative and crafty as some of you lot.

The tablets don't sound good Dinah, are there any different ones you could try?

Good luck with your writing deadlines Lara. It's awful when you can't seem to get your brain working!

I cried at the John Lewis advert too, although everything is making me cry at the moment. Had such an awful/lovely weekend with family. Visiting more family today for a few days, then it's my final week. Just wanna curl up at the mo though, not feeling productive at all! :( Gah.

Hope everyone is well :) xx

Aw Zig :( Do you feel excited as well or just upset? Hopefully you are looking forward to it as well, I know you will have an amazing time and it will fly past once you're out there.

Are you having second thoughts or just feeling sad about saying goodbye to everyone?

Sick 5 times today, dizzy, headache, really wishing I was a healthy person.

Stove is going to cost a lot more to install than I thought - £1120. I'd estimated half that. So now need to decide if we're going to do it this year.

Also, the cam belt for the car, lot more expensive than I thought at £580.

Car insurance came in at £481.

Today was a very expensive day.

Aww Zig it's natural to feel like that, just the overwhelming-ness of change! My trips to Uganda were definitely the best ever experiences, even though it was a bit stressful at the beginning. You're going to have a great time :)

Birdie, the vinyl bowl sounds very cool! I'm very impressed :) I can't say we're natural DIY-ers, I just get so !!!!ed off with the little things and then we never have any money to hire someone - or they are just so expensive because it's London. But it is surprising how much the little things improve the place. Next stop is definitely the junk cupboard.

Dinah, so sorry to hear you're still feeling poorly. Sounds like you might have to put off the wood burning stove until next year. Bu DF-ness would be so much better! Can you defer the cam belt? Can't say I know anything about cars :o Were you guys going to pay the insurance up front to pay less and free a bit of money each month? Sounds like a good investment.
