Hey everyone, just popping in. Had the best friend from uni to stay for the weekend. We went to see Incubus on Friday and it was pretty amazing! Managed to get us to the front row just in time for Brandon Boyd to take his shirt off *stares off into the distance...* Anywho, i now have come down with some weird virus thing with migraines and nausea combined with a few other symptoms which means I can't really stare at the computer for too long.
Don't be down on yourself Dinah, the mere fact you are tackling your debt is amazing! There are so many people that just let it pile up, as this website attests to, and you should just be happy in the fact that you are not one of them.
Shrimpy, I passed on my 3rd attempt. In fact my driving license arrived in the post this morning! But as everyone says, you only really learn how to drive once you've passed. I am s*it scared of driving on my own though. Drove my friend to the fireworks at the weekend and managed to get there and back without stalling! Can't park to save my life though which means I'm hesitant about going out on my own because I won't be able to get it back on the drive! I have a VW Polo by the way (called Dave) and he is the best thing ever
I've kind of asked for a Kindle for Christmas because I do spend a lot of time on trains etc, and don't always remember (or have the space) for a book.

So jealous ruby! I will never forgive my stupid friend and her stupid boyfriend having a stupid row just before incubus at leeds festival and then needing comforting back at the campsite. I could just hear them playing faintly
Brought back some bad memories there!
You guys are making the kindle sound pretty good. I'd love one for travel but then think it's something else to worry about. be fine for a beach hol but what if it's nicked out my backpack when I go travelling. Hmm decisions!

Oooh choices choices... quite impressed that the 3G is free, but agree that the keyboard one does look clumpy! Argh, need to find a shop with them actually on display so I can have a play!
Shrimpy! Just been having a nosey at the KG site and your gloves are back for sale!I may have ran out to buy another copy of Elle so I can get another 'looks expensive but only cost £7.80 present' for SIL

The holiday thing is about the only reason why I haven't given in to kindle lust - I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving it on the beach/by the pool, and it would drive me mad having to take it back to the room all the time. I do love real books, but for fiction I could be converted to a kindle. My other concern is all my reading matter comes from RiSi, I never pay more than the £2 or so postage, so it may end up costing me more to buy new books from Amazon.
No not going on Saturday Tete unfortunately, decided it wasn't hard and fast, and I've been feeling too ropey on these pills to commit to anything. I came home from work at 2pm today and had a 3 hour napMSE session sounds good.
I can't park after 10 years Ruby so I wouldn't worry, I am always the one parked at the other end of the car park so I don't have to fit between two cars, and even then I'm rarely remotely in a space, even after a few back and forwards. Don't even mention parallell parking, I park as far away as I have to to not need to do it and walk.

TBH I bought only 2 books since I got my kindle. It was a trilogy, first part released for free and I really really loved it, made me buy the second and third part. I use the daily emails for book alerts and currently have about 500 books on my kindle, I guess it will last me for a while. Yes, some books are rubbish but that's the advantage, you read a chapter, you don't like it so you delete it.
As for leaving it on the beach, next to swimming pool: we alternate, I go swimming first, than OH. OH lives in the sea and usually comes out for half an hour/hour only while I love lying down and reading so I use those half an hours to go swimming:). We went with friends to Greece who refused to go in the sea/pool so I had always someone watching my Kindle.
Birdie, Currys/pc world usually have them on display, you can try the Kindle to see whether you like it or not.0 -
My Currys seems to be the only one where they don't have them Kavics! I can't even do the click and collect thing, no idea why they don't have them, it's rubbish! I had to laugh when the new one was first released, they had posters in the window with them on but they weren't selling them!
I used to be a useless parker but when my parents moved house my parking space was tiny and really awkward to get into, I soon learnt how to reverse park because I had no option!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Sounds silly but I'm hopeless at parking next to pavements, whether parallel or not. My street is really narrow with loads of people parking on it so you have to park half up on the pavement, so when I go to a normal street where there's room not to I can't judge how far I am away from the kerb - I'm either parked out in the middle of the road or I scrape my wheels
Happy Friday peeps, I'm off to get my Financial Forecast Head on(for work not personal - it's much harder!)

Do you have to take over and park the car for her?
There was a newly past driver in the garage and she was struggling and had stopped in front of my space. In the end, I had to show her how to park into her spot. She has not done too bad since although she hasn't got straight sort out yet.0
