Ooooh Kavics now I want a Kindle! Had a suspicion I might get one for Christmas but was saying the other day I'm not keen on them so probably ruined that for myself!

Crochet is definitely still on my list of things to master Tete, I'm glad-in-a-nice-way that you found it hard too, look at you now! And I have a bag of wool at home too just waiting to become something pretty... Or am I just trying to distract myself from ebay listings this weekend?

OK so now I think I need the one with the keyboard if it's a browser thingy too... but how do you get 3G? Does it charge you? I'm always too scared to browse much on my phone as I never know if I'm going to get a massive bill, kind of takes the fun out of it! :o

    (Still lurking)

Just weighing in on the Kindle thing, I love real books and was almost anti-ereader until a few months ago. My OH bought me one for my birthday to go on holiday with and I love it so much that I want to marry it :kisses:. It's light, easy to use, great on the eyes and can carry 1000's of books (gawd I feel like an advert :o).

I can't believe I resisted so long, now I'm in the process of shifting my old books through Amazon/charity shops.

I meant that it would keep him from going on roadtrips and get your costs down cause he'll keep thinking I'm too big for it.

LOADS of room in them assuming your not putting anyone in the back.

I can get my cello on the back seat, mrs P and still have room for stuff in the boot.

Birdie - I have a Kindle and it's great. I got the newer, cheaper one as tbh if I go on holiday I'll download all the books before hand and don't need the 3G option. I was really glad the new one came out without the keyboard, I think it makes it look needlessly clumpy! My Mum is trying to get one with that £10 off code too.

Birdie, Amazon is paying the bill for the 3G, you are not charged and you can use it as much as you want. As I said, don't expect too much from it but for checking email/facebook/news, it's good.
I tried the new Kindle at the weekend at the airport, you can still put web address in it but you use only 2 buttons? Basically a virtual keyboard comes up and you go on the letter you need, hit enter, than go on the next, etc. Personally I prefer keyboards but than I travel abroad at least 10 times a year with work/on holiday/visiting family.

I bought mine in Cash Conventors, there is one down the road I live, it was priced as £99 but my OH said we would take it for £80 and surprisingly they agreed to it. They even threw in a year guarantee and I believe it was brand new, even the foil was on it, no box though. I am not planning to sell my Kindle anyhow.

Also there is a daily email alert, there are free books everyday on Amazon, not only the Classics. The books are good, I found really good authors for free.
