  • I did Beanielou :D - hope you did too.

Didn't actually venture far all weekend (got sm shop on Friday as was up in town) - didn't even go out in the car yesterday. It was nice just being at home, chilling for a change!:)

Did manage to get a couple of batch cooks done for fat club food - have 6 portions of spag bol & 5 of chilli in the freezer, so that should help a bit:T

Getting the hang of it a bit - struggling with "filling" foods IYKWIM (I'm a big meat, veg & pots girl:o) as everything (pots, rice, pasta etc) that I usually eat is high points (might be why I'm a bit on the fat side:o)

RFTA, you are so disciplined, first getting debt free and now sticking to your healthy eating regime.

I got down to 8st 7 (have put it back on in last 4 years though) on WW about 9 years ago, it was on the old points system too. The thing about WW is if you follow it, it WILL work, so keep it up. I think my life is in too much turmoil at the minute to try it, but once things calm down I might give it another bash.

    Anyway good luck, keep posting:T

Hate to say it Rising but I think SW might actually suit your way of eating way more than what you are doing.
With SW meat, potatoes rice and pasta and of course fruit and vegetables are all free IYSWIM?

The red arrows are fab aren't they, I'm not too far from the base (about 30 miles) and sometimes if we go to Lincoln they'll be out practising My-Love-my-love-heart-in-love-smiley-emoticon-001187-medium.gif

WW is difficult when you love carbs - I could live off pasta and when it's all weighed out it never looks much :rotfl:

Hope you had a good weekend & are having a good week!

Good news is that it's pay day & the sun is shining :j:j Maisie is being a pain in the butt as she wants to go for her walk, but it's far to hot atm:)

Bad news is that I've had to raid some of the pots  to try to balance the books.... however, these were new ones that I don't think I've been managing to keep track of properly (eg Anything else, which covers ... anything else:o and I haven't been good at transferring amounts each month). Also raided the hair account as there is enough for a cut/blow dry already & won't need done until Sept (ish) time.... and raided another too :(

    Anyway, after all of that:

    House & Car (£405.21)
£ 20.00 Landline - Advance rental (due May)
£ 22.48 House insurance (due May)
£172.63 Car - Tax, breakdown cover, servicing/MOT, repairs (due Jan)
£160.00 Car - Insurance (due Dec)
    £ 30.10 Emergency fund (raided £100 from here:eek:)

    Pets (£183.32)
£ 18.32 Dog ( she better have a good month!)
£ 80.00 Dog - walker (paid next 2 weeks already)
    £ 85.00 Cats

    Others (£100.39)
    £ 7.18 Clothes (finally in a positive!:T)
£32.00 Hair (raided - still enough for next trip!)
£27.38 Dentist (raided - just been!)
    £26.25 Presents
£ 7.58 Anything else (raided - not using properly & shouldn't be much in here!)

mmmmm must try harder as I'm obviously overspending still :o - might have to revisit the SOA to refresh my mind!

    Plan of action
    • Have a very frugal August
    • Try to rein in F&V spending at the SM and do some proper fat club planning!
    • Keep Maisie out of trouble so no more vets trips
    • Try to use the car less & cut down fuel spends (getting ridiculously high!) - DM has offered to alternate visits (several months ago) but we've just not got into the habit of it (and I wouldn't get to see DF as often as he can't come)
    • errrr - any suggestions welcomed!

    Hi Rising,
One suggestion would be to try and schedule your car payments so that they don't all come in Dec and Jan - maybe buy six month's tax in Jan so you get it to the opposite end of the year. That will also give you a little boost in case you are short after Christmas. It will cost you maybe a fiver but take a little pressure off in the months following what is typically the most expensive.

I know you are a bit remote from shops but is there a proper regular street market anywhere in a town that is driveable. I would offer whoopsie prices at the end of the day and then prep and freeze the veg to take the pressure off. I've done the same for meat, fish, pies and bread too. Don't ask and you won't get. My imaginary rabbit eats loads of carrots...:rotfl:

    Take care
