I've never had Quorn before - isn't the texture meant to be a bit strange? :o

  • mmmm it did look at bit odd when it came out the packet:eek: but it tasted fine.:)

Don't think I'll ever be a convert from real mince but the pack was 6 points (300g) and the same amount of mince would've been 18 points .

Just worked out if I used my usual amount of mince & made it the same way, it would come out at 6 points / meal (instead of the 2 I got it down to)

So .... I'll manage with it while I'm on the diet!:)

Might do some Chilli (Quorn again of course;)) later so I've got a bit of variety for dinners!

Not a lot happening in the Rising household today - had Maisie for her walk & we've had breakfast. Need to sort through the cupboards & "point" jars etc and reorganise the freezers (put fat stuff in the outside one for the odd treat rather than everyday use;)) - and that's about it.

I'm :o to say that I'm very financially :o:o until payday (Tues) - just about everyone I know gets paid the last Thurs or Fri .... hate waiting until the last working day:p

    I am an idiot :o

Totally forgot the airshow is on today :o:o - will have to attempt to retrieve the cats from outside shortly (it will get very noisy here!) - glad I've had Maisie out already;). There was loads of planes yesterday afternoon too ... probably a lot of them arriving:)

Hopefully it'll stay dry & I may just take a dander up the hill, with my camping stool and a can of juice (diet of course!) and see what I can see:T

Ohhhh and I need to fit in the F1 qualifying too!:)

    Things looking up!!!!!:T

    Hi Rising,

Been AWOL for ages as life seems to be mad busy (though not sure why as I don't seem to "do" anything interesting!), but wanted to drop in and say how much I loved your Leek & Chicken Risotto recipe - though I did WW it up a bit (I'm on that too - managed to shed 15lbs in 13 weeks but that includes going totally off the rails for a couple of weeks round my birthday and gaining back 4 - think a whole cake to myself, pavlova, McDs, chocolate etc etc etc etc:eek::eek::eek:)

    I used 170g raw chicken - 4pts
2 leeks to pad it out
extra mushrooms to pad it out (full 250g pack)
replaced the peas with asparagus (yellow stickered and no points whereas peas would have been 2pts)
only 60g of rice per serving (so 12 pts for rice)

This did two very generous meals for me, at 8pts per meal.

Hope you are finding it ok, but I think it does make you a bit obsessed with food, I'm sure I think about it more than ever even though I eat less :D

Ohhhhh fab SOT have been thinking about that recipe & how to reduce it as it's one of my fav meals :D. Glad you enjoyed it & :T:T:T for the weightloss:j:j:j

Well ..... *luckily* it started raining earlier so they both arrived back ;) however, big cat is currently sitting on the arm of my chair protesting loudly at the fact he's not been allowed out again :p.

Getting quite noisy outside - unfortunately it's very showery so don't think I'll be going to sit up the hill, but I can still see some of the planes from the back garden so popping out when it's dry!:D

*lost* most of the morning as went for a wee snooze - and woke up over 3 hours later  so must get on & get my list done!

  • OMG just saw (about 1/2 hour ago) the most amazing display by the Red Arrows :D

Joined several of my neighbours in the street to watch them and they were fantastic :j:j one actually came in a straight line right down the street and they were flying around over us for ages *sigh* they are fab!:D

It did brighten up (while the RA were flying) and was roasting hot and was thinking about taking a wander up the hill but it's dulled over & is drizzling again so think I'll make do with trips into the street when it's dry!:)

    Hey Rising,

Not been around for a couple of days so I have been having a catch up with your diary.

You sound as if you are doing really well with ww and seem to be very organised. Watch out though as it does become a bit of an obsession and begins to take over your life (not going out, checking everything for its nutritional values etc etc) I think that is why I am struggling to get from weight loss to maintenance as I can't get the 'must lose weight' thoughts out of my head and it feels wrong to be eating more :o Anyway, enough about me :o
2 and a half pounds is brilliant - well done :T I tried the quorn mince and decided it wasn't for me, so I now use turkey or chicken which brings the points down a little :) and you are right 6points worth of pasta is nothing compared to how much I used to eat  I always have 9 points worth but I don't eat it very often even though I love it because it makes my very bloated (TMI???)

Keep going and good luck for the weigh in on Thursday but it sounds as if you don't need to worry, you are so motivated at the moment :A
