Tactical grocery shopping for me today!

First of all I had to wedge my car up the kerb so it didn't roll across the car park while I wasn't in it  then I had to do two separate grocery shops to use up two £10 off £30 shops vouchers.

So £30.91 spent at the shop as I was going past anyway and then £33.98 spent online - Total spend £64.89 but with vouchers of £20.41 and part of it being some bits for OH's birthday there's only £36.64 to go against the grocery budget..

I've still got three vouchers to use (possibly 4 if I can find the missing one) so i'll be stocking up the cupboards I think, we'll definitely have a bit of a toilet roll mountain a la Tilly :rotfl:

Car is booked in next Tuesday to be fixed.. shock absorber spring thing, handbrake and cam belt may need changing.. the cost may make me cry

    time for Bedfordshire.. xx
    Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.

I keep seeing them everywhere now.. it's not helping my "waiting till next year" plan :rotfl:

I was also considering the Toyota hybrids but I don't think they do it in the Aygo and the Yaris is a bit expensive/big for me..

You're a lot closer to being MF than us though.. I completely understand your way of thinking :D if we were that close we'd be buying nothing at all!

I used to have a purple Corsa, it looked like Tinky Winky in a weird way.. I was sad when I got rid of it but had a lot less mickey taking at work!

There's a metallic parma violet Fiat 500 I see most days on the way to work - that sounds ideal for you. I think the pearlised cream sounds much nicer though!

I'm another one who's trying to put the OH off buying a new car until we're nearer being mortgage free. (and I'd quite like a Fiat 500 but with 2 older children they're just not practical)

My first car was a purple escort.... I loved that car.

Shala, if you can stretch to a Toyota, you'd probably find it very reliable. I've had my Yaris for 11 years and Mr Goldie has had his Auris for 7 years, and we've had hardly any problems or issues, just minor things.

Completely used to people laughing at my car, have a berlingo and I get serious abuse, ice cream van quips being the most common.

Nope I can't imagine fitting a full family in one :rotfl: I think we'll struggle with OH, he's 6'3! He might have to duck a bit..

Thanks for the recommendation, it's definitely one I'm considering along with the Citreon C3(I think it's that's the one I saw today) it just comes down to how much I want to pay I guess..
