    Hi Shala

Just finished reading your diary from the beginning. You have made loads of progress. :T

When is your jury service going to be? I did it a few years ago. I did a 2 week stint and sat on 3 cases: ABH, rape, and possession with intent to supply. It was very interesting, and when we weren't actually in court, I made friends with a few of the other jurors who were lovely friendly people.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

Hi Lydia, thanks for dropping by.

I'm not in court till the end of April, so a way off yet.:D

I hope I get at least one case just so I can see what it's all like.. It would be disappointing to get sent home as I'm going way out of my comfort zone of new places and not knowing people, so I'd like it to be worthwhile..

You sound like you had a variety of cases, quite interesting but awful going through all those details, hope it wasn't too upsetting!

Bit of money spending this weekend, we popped out yesterday to town as I had to fetch a parcel so picked up a few bits - total spend was about £20.

It was quite amusing to watch all the men running around with their kids getting flowers and chocolates, and the queues in the card shops were ridiculous! :rotfl:

OH hadn't got anything for his mom (and it's her birthday too) So we had to get a card (£4.60!!) and a present. Smiths were doing an offer on the Hummingbird Bakery book for £5 so we got that, if she doesn't want it then I'll happily have it as the recipes in there look amazing!

We have 6 people tonight for birthday tea for OH's mom, so I've put some pork in the slow cooker for pulled pork, jackets, corn, salad and rolls. OH bought a lemon meringue cheesecake-y thing for dessert with ice cream..

Right well the washing has just finished so off out to pop it on the line... Hope everyone's having a great day x

Evening all... busy few days at work so not much time to pop on..

Did manage a few bits of money saving though
    • 6.75 hours overtime
    • £10 CP voucher earned
    • £5 reward money moved to savings offset
Unfortunately I have a spending week coming up
    • hair needs cutting and colouring
    • need to buy some tights and a bag for a wedding i'm going to
    • dentist again- hygienist this time.. £70 ish
    • petrol for trip to wedding, it's over an hour away..
    • already given £20 towards the present
    • drinks to pay for - luckily I don't drink :D so no expensive drinks for me...
Wedding's are expensive aren't they! We have 3 this year, but as they are all different sets of people we can wear the same outfits :rotfl:

    • need to buy some tights and a bag for a wedding i'm going to - bought a little bag from Claire's for £8:j

As I was shopping, I also "bought" some new jeans and underwear.. but they were free with my Deb*nhams vouchers.. :j

The rest of the afternoon we have spent plumbing - OH has been in the loft and adjusted the ballcock in the tank so it stops dripping out of the overflow pipe and then we've finally fixed the leaky shower :T total cost to us 69p for the plumbing tape stuff to reseal the screwy bit (technical aren't I :D)

Next weekend, we'll be resealing the bath again and then it should be completely fixed.:T:T

    Afternoon all..

The wedding was yesterday so our finals spends were approx. £20 on petrol, £30 on drinks (OH) and £20 on breakfast(me) this morning :o as a treat... It was a nice day out to a beautiful old castle and the weather held up well, not sunny but dry at least. Next one is August, but it's a bit closer to home so should cost less.

Also had my trip to the toothy peg hygienist - £68 for causing me pain! :( Need to fill out my NHS form and scan it over to get £18 back, every little helps :D

The hygienist recommended I get an electric toothbrush but she was very MSE and told me never to pay full price as the one's she recommended was usually on offer somewhere. I popped to B00ts after and sure enough it was half price at £30, I had £30 in vouchers so I grabbed it for free :j:j

We're having a pretty quiet weekend after a busy few days so we'll be pottering around tidying the garden, sealing the bath etc, hopefully there will be no money spent.

Money savings and to do :
    • don't need to do a big grocery shop this week :T just milk needed
    • need to do a bit of batch cooking tomorrow for lunches/snacks got lots of eggs to use so it'll be egg fried rice and banana bread http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/2554643/healthy-banana-bread
    • going to complete a meal plan for the rest of April whilst OH is away gigging tonight

    Money spends
    • car tax £130
    • shopping £15.42
    • Corsodyl £4.75  - I have an infection round my wisdom tooth so I'm hoping this will help clear it

    Money savings
    • OH has been given a company phone - £15 saved a month:j
    • said no to a Subw*y today :D and ate my leftovers
    • all surveys up to date

    • SIL bought round loads of beautiful flowers too = orange gerberas (my fave) and orange and white lilies
    • sent off dentist form - should get £18 back

Hello there, just been reading and enjoying your diary.:)

For things like salaries etc, if it's not received on Thursday, the next processing day would be after Easter, i.e Tuesday. So hopefully your employer will make sure you are paid before Easter.

I've worked for banks my whole working life, and the Easter break is longer than most Christmas breaks, so I know from experience that tomorrow will be completely bonkers at work!

I agree about the price of Corsodyl, it's pretty shocking. I recently switched to Sainsbury's own mouth wash at 65p a bottle, might be something to try another time:)

Thanks for visiting :D nice to see you..

Seems money shuffle day will hopefully be early this month then :j:j

Thanks for the heads up on the mouthwash, it's not something I normally use, only when I have issues.. Maybe I should start, it may cut my visits to the dentists a bit :rotfl:

I see you are mortgage free, are you on the Roll of Honour? Can't wait till we all get our pretty MF badges :D

    Pay Day Shuffle... :j

    Apr Monthly figures
    Outstanding Mortgage £147,967.56
LTV rate - 65.76% (need this below 65% before Aug)
Family Loan £3,050 (OH will pay this each month)
    Daily interest £16.23
    Offset Savings £15,593.10

Total Debt as present moment £135,424,46(-1,859,81):j

Health goals 9.5lb lost :o must push on...

Good month this month, I can only think that we had extra money due to the grocery bill being cut a bit, only 1.5 weeks left till the end of the month and we've only spent £110.. which is brilliant for us.

I'll be having a Tesc0 shop this week as we've had some great vouchers through (£10 off £30) but I shouldn't spend more than the delivery minimum so we should still be under budget.

    Off to shop :D
