My laptop's back hurrah :j i can now update my spreadsheets and catch up on diaries...
In the end it only need a "health check" and that cost £35.. I'm sure i should have been updating stuff over the years but i have no clue when it comes to computers so i think i'll just have to send it to be checked every year or so to keep it going.
Also checked all my bank accounts and moved some bits about.. debts to the family are now only £13,635 which is great.. :T
Unfortunately didn't get any of my to do list done from my previous post, i've done 13 hours overtime in the last 3 days so i've been too knackered by the time i've got home to do anything but eat my tea and then sleep..
MSE stuff
- £20 in tesc0 clubcard vouchers received - will swap some for eating out and keep the rest for xmas pressies
- used rest of M&S vouchers for some shopping - save £6
- used tesc0 code for £13 off shopping
- won't be shopping this week - use stuff from cupboards
- checked into 9 shops in town, earning me 60p on Quidc0
- managed to harvest a small bowl of berries from the garden - probably worth a £1 at the supermarket - tried my first blueberry - i'm still not sure:o
- £1.35 paid from Quidc0
- 25 searches done on Searchlotto so should get a free euromillions ticket on TuesdayMortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
Weekly update time..:)
I've managed to do another 13 hours overtime this week so in total for August so far is 26 hours  I'm hoping next week it'll be quieter as it seems most people are off on the holidays, with just a few (inc me) left in the company to cover all their work.. hmmm why did i think it would be quieter :rotfl:
So money saving things this week..
- only thing i've bought is petrol - haven't had time for anything else
- £25 finally redeemed from Purepr0file
- more Tesc0 clubcard vouchers received.. i only have a clubcard and a credit card yet i've had 3 separate lots of vouchers - i'm confused!
- another free lottery ticket for tonight
- 40p on Onepoll
off to bed now to get a lovely long sleep...Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
Very MSE day yesterday, went into our local city as OH needed to get his watch fixed, I popped into B00ts as I needed to get some moisturiser... ended up with 3for2 offer on No7, a moisturiser, foundation and face cleanser, RRP £37.. i paid £0 and used my points instead!! :j I'd forgotten i'd got so many, they came from either the purchase of the cooker or fridge back in December from B00ts Kitchen appliances. Still have £15 left too.:D
Also called in to Waitr0se to get some fruit and milk, and whilst there did an instore survey (by Valued Opini0ns/ipni0n) which should net me £5.25. I felt very self conscious as I had to take photos of the displays/offers and wherever I was stood there was someone stacking shelves next to mei hope i was discreet enough not to get noticed!
I've spent today playing around with some summary sheets for my spreadsheet so that I'll be able to compare year on year totals and see where i can improve. Don't have any gas, elec or water figures yet as we haven't been here for a year yet, but the grocery spend level has certainly come down a bit (roughly £50 a month). Bills have gone up from £750 in 2011 to £1400 this year  due to moving house so it would be an unfair comparison i think :rotfl:
Off to sort out the freezer contents so that we can make some meals next week! have a good one xx
ETA - i've decided to get a new grocery spreadsheet that monitors spends so i can see how much i really spend on junk food and diet coke, i reckon it's a fair old amount on the diet coke to be honest.. £5 plus a week  if i can see it in monetary terms then i may be able to kick the addiction and that will benefit my health too!Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
Shalamoo
Its a shocker isnt it to add up how much gets spent on food/drink without noticing!
I also have a habit of buying drinks/coffees etc.. in the week and reckong at least £5 a week goes on it! £25 a month I could be spending on other stuff!
well done on the boots "freebies" !0 -
Hi TYO, yes it's awful when you really sit and think about it how much money gets wasted and on things that aren't even good for you in the first place
I buy 4 bottles of Diet Peps1/c0ke a week plus i go through 9 cans at work! All bought on offer but this still adds up to approx £6.25 a week (£325 a year )
I also dread to think how much it will end up costing me in dentist fees!!Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
Money saving
Had a bit of a wander round sa1nsburys this afternoon instead of online shopping as I had a few coupons to use.. ended up spending £94.59
But after
- £9 off £60 shop voucher
- £10 survey gift voucher
- £22.50 worth of nectar points
- £12.50 cake ingredients reimbursed
- £14 OH paying me back for Whiskey
i'll have only spent approx £26.50:j for the weekly shop ( only £1.24 on junk food and no pepsi bought!!)
Additional points also earnt from buying Lenor (on special offer at £2 and 150 points earned) and spend £60 to get 240 points both from the Sa1nsburys app on my phone.:T
Money spending
We're taking out our friends tonight for a meal as they both turned 40 in the last few months... although on the bright side they're not big eaters so prob just paying for a main course and a couple of beers :rotfl:Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
Aug Monthly figures
Outstanding Mortgage £162,942.60
Family Loan £11,210.00
Daily interest £17.86
Emergency Savings £10,000
Total Debt as present moment £164,152.60(-3,386.31)
Weight target 42lbs/5lbs
My share save money has come through, therefore, my balance has reduced significantly!! I invested about £4k and the gross return was just under £3k so great bit of saving! :T However, i have then been taxed on this so it reduces the figure somewhat. Still i'm not complaining...
It's nice to see my "whole" debt under £165k, but it won't be staying there for long once I have to pay for my eye op...Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -

Oooops yes, i took it out of my signature when i reached my goal of saving £10k..
I've amended my post above so it makes sense...Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
Right so, some money shuffling been done.
- opened an ISA and deposited full amount - 3.25% for 2 years with Hal1fax - i couldn't bring myself to use Santand3r
- opened a new regular saver with FD - 8%
- put some money in premium bonds - i know they're not great but i'm easily influenced by "i may be the one who wins" and for the amount i have in there i wouldn't be earning much interest
That's left me with £300 in my current account  until OH gets paid at the end of the month (and £250 of that will go into my HSBC regular saver soon).
As much as I know i've left my self a bit short in my current account, I can't help myself by adding to my savings as it brings down the total of my debt owing to my family! :rotfl:Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0
