What a rubbish weather day :( it was lovely this morning but we couldn't go out as we had visitors and then it's just rained all afternoon!

I've used my time wisely though - i've been catching up with diaries :D, all surveys are up to date and i've checked that all banks accounts are doing what they should and are at the correct balances.

Finally my Y0ug0v and Purepr0file payments have come through so i'm £75 better off today and i've ordered a 6 month mag subscription from Max1miles because I can't bear using it anymore but didn't want to lose my points.. once the magazine has turned up I shall be closing the account. I'm afraid it's too much effort for too little reward :(

On the diet front - i've lost another 1.5lb, very pleased. I've started the UpDayDownDay diet, which is a bit like the Horizon program on the other day. I basically only have 500 cals for three days a week, it's said to help shift lbs and also has other health benefits too. I decided that it won't hurt to try it any more than staying obese and not trying it, so i've gone for it. Also it's money saving as our grocery bill should go down dramatically:rotfl:

Have a good BH weekend everyone - unfortunately i have to work Monday :( x

I've been meaning to get round to changing my mobile phone plan since last month but have been putting it off.

As with most calls into a customer services centre, I went into this expecting it be a fight to get a cheaper plan and not to be up-sold something because they badger you so much you say yes to shut them up.

I prepared myself with research and i was sticking to my gunssmiley-violent045.gifi found the cheapest plan that covered all my needs @ £15.50. Well i was half-shocked when the lovely lady on the phone said "you know there's a cheaper plan if you want it."

I've never had this happen before :rotfl:but now i'm paying £10.50(plus vat) a month instead of approx £40, roughly saving £300 a year.

Thanks Lynn from 0range customer services, i hope you have good karma this week! :T

Well done on your weight loss - I find healthy food adds significantly to the food bills!

Excellent news about your mobile phone bill too :) I had a nice lady from Sky telling me the best way to get the costs cut on my package too including using MSE for inspiration and saynoto0870 to reduce how much I pay to 0845 numbers. It is always lovely to find someone like that!

Hi Ammonite, i'm glad to hear there are some more good customer service mentions, you usually only hear the bad stories. Maybe the big companies have had a change of heart and are trying to build good reputations rather than massive profits!

Day off today and it's miserable weather so i'm baking.. 3 dozen cupcakes (choc, peanut butter and vanilla) and a massive vanilla sponge.. the house smells lovely and i can't eat any of it cos of my diet :(:o:(:o

Hope everyone's having a good MSE day xx

Awww can you come and bake at my house today? I'm gloss painting and the fumes are horrible. Can only crack the windows because the rain would ruin the freshly painted walls.

Oh yes, very MSE. A decorator friend told me about £120 per day is the average charge for a decorator. I've been painting for 6 days solid!!!

Mmmmmm now I want cupcakes. Would be sooo bad as my waist is expanding anyway (baby & lots of munching) so I don't need the encouragement lol

I'm having a MSE day - also done some DIY saving around £700 :D

I've managed to ice and decorate all the cakes now without one passing my lips :D it's like a miracle.. i may however have accidently licked a spoon at some point this afternoon

    i wish i had a healthier hobby!!

Tilly, i'll go and stick the kettle on :coffee::D

No, it didn't work but now my mouth is watering! I might have to get the cake days book off the shelf to do some baking tomorrow!

I have downed tools for the day, had a nice shower and lovely dinner.
