It's dressing table day :j:rotfl: waiting in for the delivery gives me time to catch up on some diaries and Gossip Girl.. one of my vices, rubbish TV!! :rotfl:
The wedding cake was a very stressful few days, i will never do another one ever again! I don't know how people do it for a living  i'm definitely not baking for a while to get over the trauma, i'm so glad it's over!
It's pay day today, but i don't have my pay slip so i'm not sure what overtime i've been paid.. i need to double check it though because it looks a bit low.. or maybe i was being a bit optimistic!
Usual money shuffling this morning and this leaves me with the below :
July Monthly figures
Outstanding Mortgage £163,388.91
Family Loan £14,150.00
Daily interest £17.91
Emergency Savings £10,000
Total Debt as present moment £167,538.91(-1,073.64)
Weight target 42lbs/2lbs
The family loan is going down quite nicely.. I added £23.83 this morning to even it up :rotfl:Once OH pays me his half towards the bills next week i'll have some more to put to it.
Weightwise it isn't going very wellthere's just too many sweets in the world..
Right time to concentrate on Gossip Girl xoxo...Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
Been out in the lovely sunshine today :j and it's set to continue, shame i'm at work all next week to miss it, it's meant to be getting up to about 24 degrees round by us. Hope everyone else is having the wonderful weather..
This morning, we decided to go into the local town just to have a wander really, and i remembered that i'd downloaded the Quidc0 app on my phone. I've managed to earn £1.35 by "checking in" to all the shops that i went past so that will be another bit to add to my savings. :j Must do better next time though - i probably ended up missing a £1's worth of check-in's as we were the wrong end of town by the time i remembered i'd got the app.
It's been a pretty MSE weekend all round, we spent yesterday putting up the pictures and shelves that we hadn't got round to doing yet, they all came from the old house pretty much so it didn't cost us anything (just a bit of left over cake to give my dad for his help!) and i've decided i'm going to learn to tile so that I can make a splashback in the kitchen  now to find tiles at a reasonable price and some discounts along the way..
I'm hoping that we can get all the little diy jobs finished by the end of the year, nothing is costing horrendous amounts of money as the builders did most of the work, but we would like the house to look more homely rather than a monotous beige colour all through.
Off to study tiling then :rotfl:Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
Meant to also add, as i've now got the dressing table, i've been able to sort through my random boxes of toiletries and make up etc.
Yesterday i uncovered a box full of mini bottles of shampoo, body lotions and shower gels that I always buy for when we go on holiday. The thing is I very rarely use them as we mainly stay in hotels which provide these things for youSo why do i buy them..! I've now put them in the bathroom to use up as and when and declutter.
No more buying mini stuff just because it's cute!! :rotfl:Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
I keep the little bottles and fill them up with my usual shampoo and condition and use them on holiday.Pots: House £6966/£7100, Rainy day Complete, [STRIKE]Sunny day £0/£700[/STRIKE], IVF £2523/£2523, Car up-keep £135/£135, New car £5000/£5000, Holiday £1000/£1000, MFW #16 £2077/£3120
MFiT3 #86: Reduce mortgage from £146,800 to £125,000
Mortgage Sept 2014: £135,500, MF Oct 2035 Peak July 2011: £154,000, MF July 20360 -
Great idea for when we next go on holiday! Then it won't matter if they don't get used.
Back into work this morningbut it did mean i was able to check my payslip as I thought it was too low - i was correct, i'm down about £400 in overtime payments  instead of paying me double time for the bank holidays they've paid me 0.5 time!! Have passed it on to my boss to get sorted, hopefully they'll correct it in next month's pay cheque..
On the plus side, it's a cheapy day for me today, had a free fruit salad for breakfast and a 10p pack of cous cous from Approved Food for lunch :j with left over chicken and pasta for tea.. we know how to live the high life don't we!Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
Well very tired today - can't sleep with the heat
i've ended up in the spare room the last few nights just to get a bit of coolness..
On a positive note, managed to redeem £10 on VO today so i've added £10 to my savings. I've gone for a sainsbugs voucher to reduce the shopping bill :j i'm frustratingly close on on purepr0file and Youg0v too(eta i'm now 5 points away from my £50.. here's hoping for a survey tomorrow!)
In savings news, my sharesave scheme should cease at work next month, so, i have decided I will be opening another regular saver to put the money straight into before I get used to having it back in my pay packet. Reading someone else's diary I saw that you could have another regular saver with FD as long as the previous one has finished so this is what i'll be doing, 8% thankyou, please
I will also need an ISA to put the lump sum in(approx £4K), need to research the best one this weekend...Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
Hmmm so have been looking at ISA's and the bestout there, according to the guides on MSE, are with Sant@nder. As much as I want the best interest rate, I also want good customer service which doesn't come with such a company  I've had run ins before and wouldn't go back there so i'll have to keep searching.
The other better rates seem to be wth post/branch only type accounts. Does anyone have experience with these sort of accounts? Seems a bit long winded for getting your money into accounts in these modern times of internet and i'm not sure i like the idea of not seeing a balance on an internet screen..
Been a pretty low spend kind of weekend, just on a few bits of groceries, but I have had to put my laptop into laptop hospital so i'm not sure how much that's going to cost me and won't get it back until next week. I have no access to my spreadsheets at the momentand OH's laptop doesn't seem to like the letter "i" or "o" so i keep having to retype sentences
hope everyone has a lovely sunday evening xMortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -

Hi, I just put some money across to Sant@ndar ISA and can say it was really faultless. I applied online, they opened the accounts and sent me the letters to login to my account. I then logged in and pulled across from my other bank. I found it all quite easy.
That money will stay there for a year now so no need to conact customer services.Mortgage: [STRIKE]Jan 11 - £91830 [/STRIKE][STRIKE] Jan 12 - £89'199[/STRIKE] May 14 - £69'999 Car Loan: [STRIKE]Jan 11 - £3658 [/STRIKE] July 12 - £0! Thanks beachie, nice to see a positive opinion of them, but I don't trust them when it comes to getting my money back out!
I had a current account with them many years ago and they weren't the best when coming to close it.. and it took a fair few months of fighting to get the incentive that that offered at the time for opening an account with them..Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
