Apologies for being MIA... i've had very little time to come on the internet lately :(

Ammonite - the damp seems to be fixed thankfully, just have to wait for the area to dry completely and then get the paint brush out!! Luckily the builders left all the left over paint so we shouldn't have to buy any, unless i want a different colour of course

Still being as MSE as I can, have kept up with some surveys so had a couple of redeems on these which will help with grocery shopping.

Also worked a 16 hour shift yesterday :( which will be 12 hours overtime, plus we have to work bank holiday monday and tuesday :(:( so we will get premium overtime and time off in leiu..:T Although got to be honest, i'm so tired at the moment i could do with the 4 day weekend now!

Weight wise, i was doing quite well last week. However we had a Jubilee buffet at work and it's been a bit down hill since then :o hoping to get back on track tomorrow.

Today was supposed to be back to healthy eating and maybe joining the gym, but i woke up with a migraine so I was being sick all morning, then i was starving so had a lot of bread! Thankfully my migraines only last 6-8 hours, i feel for anyone who has them for days..

Anyway late night for me as i didn't get up until 2pm so i'm off to read a few diaries.. hope everyone has lovely weekends planned xx

Well thats 2 days worth of overtime clocked up.. 17 hours at double time and time off in leiu, which i'll take at the end of the month.

I haven't actually minded going in to the office the last few days as it's took less than half the time to get there with the roads being so quiet and it's been quite informal. Unfortunately, there has been a couple of trips to Mcd0nalds and Subway to keep our spirits up :o and to keep me awake as I got home late last night after going to a Westlife concert :D

So about £10 spent unnecessarily on food, but in the grand scheme of things i've earnt a lot more in the past few days than usual.

Back to normal now, a few more days at work, a birthday cake to make on the evenings and then a rest at the weekend I think!

eta. my regular saver matured last week with FD and paid out £89 interest. Not the full amount of interest I could have got as we were moving house I didn't fill it to the maximum every month. but have added that to my savings pot..

I've now opened a new Regular Saver with HSBC at 6%, and I need to find the time to research and open an ISA for the money that's now freed up in FD.

great news on your savings. I am so bad, don't have any idea what interest rate our ISA is at. I just stay loyal to the bank :/

The Regular Saver at 6% sounds brilliant!

Well done for the double time! We never have overtime opportunities at work (except for unpaid of course :/ )

I'm not great when it comes to complicated financial stuff but i always try and get the right product if I can that suits my plans.. I'm sure there are better deals out there, i've looked at putting my money away for 4-5 years for a better rate but with the uncertainty at work i never know when i'll need it fast.

The thing is, is that you have savings - many people out there don't and thats a scarey thought..

This morning i have received a letter that says the Sharesave scheme at work we joined is no longer viable once the takeover goes through, which is a shame :(. However, they are honouring our right to buy shares with the money we've already saved (14 months worth in my case).

What does this relate to in monetary terms? £3500 ploughed in, potential profit around £2k - i think for 14 months worth of savings this is fan-bl00dy-tastic!

I do, however, need to work out where this money will be going - part of me wants to pay it off the mortgage rather than off the family loan, but then I also want a few bits for the house :rotfl:hmmm decisions, decisions!

Don't know wbaout anyone else but I feel like it's been a really long time between pay days this month. After opening my new regular saver I realised that i'd probably opened it a bit too soon and i'm left withly practicalnothing in my current account until Wednesday this coming week. :o

Luckily i don't go on holiday until Wednesday so there should be money in my account by the time i hit the shops! :j

Hope everyone's having a wonderful MFW day xx

Well have had a good NSD day today been as it's fathers day and we've been out to eat!

Firstly, we were invited out by MIL for lunch at the local pub, which she kindly paid for. Then I made an apple pie for my dad for his "present", he doesn't really bother about presents and cards but i do always like to still have something to give him, needless to say he was very pleased when i popped it round to his house :D

I've also spent a while in the garden today tidying, whilst my fruit plants are doing well for their first year, all my other veg plants have been decimated by slimy creatures  all my kale, broccoli and courgette plants are no longer...:(

Now to protect my fruit from the birds and have at least some success in the garden this year!

    Family Loan £14,778.83
    Daily interest £17.96
    Emergency savings £10,000

Total Debt as present moment £168,612.55(-1205.28)

I've had some larger spends this week in anticipation of the sharesave money coming through.. i bought some kitchen gadgets - an electric grater and a Kitchen aid :D:o total cost £400  (includes a £60 voucher I had) but both very much needed.

The rest of the money will go towards paying for my eye operation, hopefully then i won't have to dip into my savings quite as much as I had anticipated.

A kitchen aid wooo! My neighbour gave me her vintage kenwood chef (perfect working order) as she didn't use it any more - I was thrilled to bits, can't make proper sponge cakes without it in my humble opinion!

    Morning all,

My Kitchen aid has arrived safe and sound - it's so preddy :rotfl:i bought the cafe latte one so it has glitter in the finish!! i'm such a girl... :o

On the one hand i am feeling guilty about spending soooo much money on it but on the other I use it most days and my old mixer (£120 at the time) is definitely on it's way out and i can't be left with nothing when i bake so many cakes/bread etc.. it also sits out on the side constantly so it needs to look pretty  am i fooling anyone yet? :rotfl:

I've spent an extra £200 in the last few days  but it's on items that i need to do a couple of wedding cakes for friends so they'll be paying me back at some point! I'm off from work at the moment so unusually i'm here to sign for couriers, i decided to order it all now save me stressing about it later in the year!

It's turning out to be an expensive month and i don't get paid again for another 3.5 weeks :o

Our internet/phone has gone wrong too, which means i'm having to use my dongle - topped this up by £12.99 last night. Apparently there's something wrong with the line outside so it won't cost us anything to be fixed, however, we'll wait for the bill to arrive before we believe them! We have complained and will be getting compensation for the days we've been without though.:T

I have an elderly Kenwood Chef - but it works fine :)

But a bit dull on the worktop - no glitter here :(

I'm sure you could stick some glitter on with a pritt stick :rotfl:

Well happily we've had the internet fixed, the engineer just turned up at the door, no contact was made to tell us he was coming  Luckily i was in at the time as we had to cut down a climbing rose and pull a trellis off the wall so that he could replace the phone line.

We'll be ringing Sky so that we can get the 4 days credit back, i'm not sure how much that works out at but it's mine anyway :rotfl:

In garden news, we've had our first produce! :j 5 gorgeous, fat, juicy strawberries.. think i'll just stick with the fruit bushes next year, veg production is very poor :(

    Off to bed xx
