I know - you do have to feel sorry for his skinny ar.....e, innit? LOL0

I must admitt to feeling very sorry for you poor fussy cat 'slaves'.. I am the apparently very lucky owner of Lola and Cash, who are the worlds least fussy outdoor cats. Lola is an unbelievable scavenger - she will not only eat whatever the tinned food is but she will eat whatever she can find - bits of bread or chips left on plates, dog food left unattended (wet and dry! I now have to feed the dogs in their crates and lock the doors overnight), dry rabbit food, also have seen her crunching things she has caught and killed up... Cash is a sneak thief and will wait until he thinks your not looking and steal everyone else's wet food and then pretend to be eating the freely given dry if caught...
I am also lucky, when I was 16 I worked for the local market pet stall - my ex-boss (who I parted terms with amicably) now sources me 'dented tins' of felix at £4 for a tray of 12.
One tin for 2 cats = 16.5p per day per cat = average £4.95 on wet food per cat..
One 5kg bag of biscuits over 2 months at cost £5.49 = £1.37 per cat
I do treat them to the odd 'fancy' tins - usually Morrisons seafood mix which I have always got on 3 for £1 which I give sporadically - maybe the odd tin of tuna if I am in a good mood. Basically a monthly average (not including jabs or insurance) of £6.32:j Married to the Love of my Life 02.08.2014 - Now I'm Mrs E :j

I have given up trying to feed my 2 'good' wet foods as they all end up in the charity box!!
must of wasted hundreds of pounds over the past couple of years but i can never resist trying them on new stuff.
just yesterday i gave them a pouch of asda tiger select which looked to me just like their favourite whiskas simply. but they could tell straight away and just walked off and left it. thankfully they do those in solo pouches so only wasted 35p this time.
and just how do they know that their whiskas came from a pouch or a tin???? they will not touch tinned whiskas at all, i tihnk they must know it is cheaper for me.
oh well i console myself by giving them decent dry foods which they are not at all fussy about thankfully!
as for budget i tend to go through 1 bag of dry a month at about £15.
and then use a box of whiskas up in 4 days so i must buy 7 or 8 of those at about £3 a box so £24
oh nearly £40 a month seems quite alot!!0 -

yes i have stopped posting so much on another cat forum because you basically get shouted at if you admit to feeding supermarket foods instead of this imported stuff from germany.
dont get me wrong i want the best for my cats but
1 - i work full time so cant be in to recieve parcels
2 - they wont eat the food anyway!gettingready wrote: »Yup, I have given up too.. Fred just polished most of the tin of Clasic and that is AFTER he stole my ham.. greedy fury thing...grrr

Sounds like Fred has a very healthy appetite
I cooked a gammon joint yesterday with the assistance of the kittens who kept trying to put their paws in pot!
Well today seems like a very fussy day!
The oldest refused to eat her cat food this morning & tuna cat actually ate a plate of Whiskas!
The kittens ate everyone's food but their own apart from the Asda Tiger Kitten which they've now decided they like again (now that we've run out of it). :wall:
To top it all off they've decided they don't like tinned Felix anymore :TGrocery Challenge: January: /£2140
