Are you ready ;)..... I think mine may rival your fussy one:o

Boy cat - only eats meat in gravy, he will eat:
Whiskas Casserole selection, Whiskas Traditional Gravy, Gourmet gold chunks in gravy, Sheba gravy

Girl cat - only eats pate, she will eat:
    Gourmet pate

I have some Bozita just now that they will eat a bit of but not loads:(

    I have tried:
Everything you can get in a supermarket!
    Applaws
    Purely
    Grau
    Smila
    Cattesy
    Animonda (both types)
    Hi-life
    Schmusy
    Shiny cat
    Smila
    Denes
    Natures menu

And loads more over the last year of so.... Yup, I did shop @ Zoo+:) - and tried practically everything:o

I think part of the problem is that they both love their dry and would quite happily just eat that - but I'd like them to eat more wet which is why I've been trying to get them to eat better quality wet.

It seems the higher the meat content, the less they like it:(

They do yeowl etc if they don't get their wet but I think that's more due to them having got used to it/getting fed everynight. If I don't give them something "they like", they will just go and stuff their faces with dry and eat twice as much of that:(

LOL yeah, looks very much like my list, i've tried every one of those too.

I hit upon the fact that boyo likes gravy, so now it's not as much of an effort. I make a gravy out of half of the natures menu pouch and poor that over the other half. Before I started this he'd not look at pate types.

I buy the bozita in gravy, and feline fayre in gravy.

Anything in jelly he'll eat a tiny bit of and look at you like you're crazy. I tried raw, you'd have thought i'd just suggested removing his leg the way he looked at me.

Honestly, try not giving them any wet for a week. It's worth a try. It's worked for a few I know, and I do it again now if boyo goes through a fussy stage. I also make sure there's only the recommended daily amount of dry down (when doing the no wet thing this is) just so I know they're not stuffing themselves full of that.

Is it the bozita in gravy you are trying?

Same here - just brought 2 small tinns of Smilla from my daughter's .. no interest whatsoever.

My lot just like classic from PAT and that is it - in jelly it is and this is what they eat.

Fred will NEVER touch ANY dry food but George, Teddy and Chloe seem to be ok with ANY dry so this is where I mix their favourite Go Cat (yeah I know but THEY like it) with Orijen or Taste of the Wild and anything else decent....

Thanks Rev, I'll give that a bash!

Re Bozita, I've got Pate, Gravy and a couple in Jelly (just in case they'd changed their fussy minds!). However, it's not really practical to feed them different pouches as they don't get through them quickly enough before they go off.

Honestly, I sometimes think a couple of weeks in the shelter would do them some good and make them appreciate home a bit more!;)

I'm fast coming to the conclusion that we should just give up trying to feed them what we think is good for them & just bloody feed them what they like!:D

That is what I do now - I can not afford to buy and throw away, for myself OR for the cats....

Good Zara eats her Orijen and no problems here. Yes, She will eat left over cat food if allowed so it is not wasted BUT she should not as she is (should be) ON A DIET AND CAT FOOD IS TOO RICH FOR A DOG. hER HIPS PROBLEMS mean she needs to keep a steady weight (sorry re caps...., just got out of bed)
  • We've tried expensive, better quality food on our cats & it seems the more it costs or the better it is for them, the more they waste. The only food they will eat without complaints is Felix & Whiskas. We bought some Gourmet a few weeks back as it was on offer but it upset the one cats tummy. The kittens will eat everything & anything but Whiskas kitten. ;)

We've been trying to get Tuna cat on cat food but she is so stubborn. She goes & sulks in her box for hours. How do you say no when they look at you like your punishing them. :o We only buy ProPlan Chicken & Rice dry food because Tuna cat used to have a lot of tummy trouble (before the tuna days) & that was the only food that she could eat. The 7.5kg bag lasts a long time & they all love it.

In other cat related news, I bought 2 tins of Felix to try last week & got all 7 cats to eat 1 tin between them. They actually licked their bowls clean! :T Can you imagine how much we could save if I could completely convert them to tins (Tuna cat included). :j

Is this Bozita stuff worth buying? And which one is it? I only tend to order from Zooplus if I'm buying a fair bit as I don't like paying delivery charges :p

  • Great news on the Felix - if they would all eat tins, it would save you a FORTUNE!:D

Re Bozita the following link shows all the varieties (16 flavours - mix of sauce, jelly & pate) http://www.seapets.co.uk/products/cat-supplies/cat-food/cat-food-pouches/bozita-cat-food/all-products.html.

I recently got one of each flavour to try - Zoo+ also do it, but seem to only sell in multi-packs http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/cats/canned_cat_food_pouches/bozita.

I'm having mixed results TBH, wee cat won't eat anything with chunks and to feed them from different pouches isn't really practical as they can't get through one before it goes off - so, I'll probably work my way through the ones I've got left as a "treat" now & then.

It works out cheaper than pouches as you don't need to feed as much as it's much higher meat content (about £1/pouch which is 370g but this goes down if you buy bigger packs from Zoo+) - they do also do tins.

Keep perservering with "tuna cat" mine went through a stage of only eating this (especially "pate cat" as it was the only thing without chunks) and have managed to wean them both off this.

    HTH

(Both sites do Quidco so a wee bit back in cashback).

    :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Got myself several slices of so yummy polish ham yesterday, about 300g so well over half a pound...

neighbour came over this morning, made us a few s/w with the ham

neighbour left, I went out of the kitchen for a split second and heard some foil rustling so run back in again to see who?

FRED on the floor with my ham, half way through it already

    :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

as I have not vacummed yet - the rest of it was lovely covered in cat/dog hair

Fred, the drumstick thief, the "skinny neglected poor cat" - nicked and ate my ham :(

he MUST have been starving... just bones and skin on that cat.... poor poor fred...

    20111009_2107.jpg
