what are the best value dating sites?

I've been on and off POF, back on it at the moment to have another look, I've kept my photos hidden though so I don't get a lot of messages.

I got sick of being asked to wear wellies, tights, a plain white shirt with the top 2 buttons undone, would I like a tv to do my housework and pamper me.......(I almost went for the last one)

I get messages like, mmmmmmmmmmm wow!! or I fancy you or Id do you.

I hate messages like that. No interest in what my personality is like.
I had message from a guy who looked really rough, earrings, tattooed all down his arms, shaven headed and didnt smile on any of his pics. I wasnt attracted to him, so replied and said he wasnt my type of guy and not attracted to him. He put 'not attracted lol funny'

The nice guys I do like and I put effort into my first messages I dont have any luck with.:(

There are a lot who just copy and paste the same message and forget they've already sent you it! Like 'wow marry me'. :rotfl:

I think internet dating is very hit and miss because you are primarily going on looks when really I don't particularly go for good looking men, they can have crooked teeth and a crooked nose but have the sense of humour and be a bit cheeky but on a dating site you don't get that.

So I probably dismiss a lot that I might actually be attracted to in reality! And sometimes the ones who look attractive don't have the personality.

I have this hope that one day I'll drop my glove and my prince charming will pick it up :rotfl:

Well after being single for a while and having read this brilliant thread I think I'm going to give it a go. I tried match.com for a while last year and met some lovely guys but pulled my profile when I met my ex (in real life!).

Now I find myself mid-20s and single again and ready to throw myself back out there. THink I might try POF or another free site this time having only tried paying sites in the past.

Wish me luck folks! Hope eveyone else is getting on okay.
