Join a free site, I have been on paid sites and had less luck because most don't pay their subscription fee so can't read your mail.
At least on a free site you're not paying to be messed about either.
Newbies Guide to POF for a bit of a laugh ;-)
Shy (accompanied by half naked photos) = Arrogant
The guy/girl who complains nobody talks to him = Attention seeking, looking for an ego boost WILL ignore you.
Looking for long term = Looking for sex
Single for 4 months = Looking to make the ex jealous in an attempt to win them back.
Very Busy/devoted to their children = They don't have time to meet EVER
'I don't look my age' -I think I look younger, I'm not 35 I'm 40.
Photos with scantily clad women/men = Wishful thinking.
The person that mails you every day for 2 weeks = Either a bad memory or scarily stalkerish.
The one that mails you 30 minutes after their first message to say 'you're not interested then'= stalker, needy, impatient or controlling (you know the kind who would expect you to reply to a text in 30seconds or have dinner ready dead on 6pm)
My friend signed me up to this = Yeah and I'm a supermodel ;-)
The guy who works hard and is lucky enough to still have a job and looks down on those who aren't so lucky = Remember pride becomes before a fall and those you look down upon may be those you look up at for help to pull you back up.
'My kid is the most important thing to me and is my world, I spend all my time with them' = Really? state the obvious but most people also have a life away from their kids. Do you have time for dating?0 -

Don't reply because no reply is a reply, don't feel worried about offending anyone as I'm sure they wouldn't worry about ignoring you.
The problem with sending a no thanks reply is many men don't get it they either question you as to why or try to convince you otherwise and will still mail again a few days later x0 -

Maybe I'm in the minority here but I would think more of a person that they sent the no thanks message and take it as a no thanks, then seem rude by not replying?
Just my view0 -

You aren't going to meet that person so does it matter?, I used to reply but the abuse I got for rejecting men has made me realise it isn't worth it. I get ignored all the time too but don't let it bother me anymore. You need a thick skin to handle dating sites.
I do have a bit on my profile that says if I don't reply then it because I don't think we would be a good match.0 -

Personally its not a question of mattering its just good manors i feel.
Fair enough some people do react badly to it and normally if they do its a lucky escape from them.
And its fair enough if you say on your ad that this is the case.
Like I said though, it is just my view and we all have different views0 -
Well I'm pleased to say (!!) that I was offered both prostitution and marriage from two different men yesterday who were contacting me for the first time. Guess I should cancel my account because how could I turn those offers down?!
The man offering marriage wants to be my house husband apparently....
I'm considering disabling my account for a while, I just seem to get constant weird messages, I've tried re-writing my profile and adding more information to it but it doesn't seem to help and I apparently get 60 views a week but barely any messages which are actually serious (and even then those are usually 'Hi how r u'). The men I message either never reply or they reply once and then never again and just keep viewing my profile which is a bit of a kick in the teeth because if they don't like me they should stop looking!!I don't even send boring first messages, I ask about things on their profile or talk about things we have in common. I don't think I've been hit by the ugly stick, I get told that I'm quite pretty (and anyway, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that) so maybe it's just that the majority of men on there aren't that serious about it/I give off a bad impression of myself/that the dating site I'm using just isn't for me!
I've found one nice person so on the bright side that's one person I wouldn't have met otherwise, I just hope he's as nice in real life!0
