  • I've just had this thread sent to me in a link and would like to join in! I've been on Match, Match Affinity, E Harmony, Friends Reunited Dating, Dating for over 50's and various local sites and have so many similar stories i could share. Worst still my friend who has been widowed twice has been victim of two scams - one on Match and one on FRD. We think the word Widow is a magnet especially if you are over 60. So be warned put Divorced!

I've just joined TopMatch UK and now have my own local personal dating consultant in Derby who matches me with men that have all been interviewed and i know they are genuine and whose photos are bang up to date! You get 12 guaranteed introductions over the two year life of the membership or you get your money back.

Its only for men and women (all ages 30-90+) who are serious about a long term relationship. You pay for the personal service but over the 2 years it works out cheaper than Match and Match Affinity etc., but it takes away the risk and hassle factor.

I'm 55 so i'm hoping this is the way to go. Will keep you posted.:)
  • Hello again,

Had another 2 dates since last been on here.

First was a nice bloke but really really gushy which I find really offputting.

Second was again a nice bloke but no real click unfortunately.

I seem to attract either 25 or 55 year olds .. not much in between :o(

It involves me, my boss and several colleagues eating lunch in the early hours as i am working! <insert expletive here>
Hi there! We’ve had to remove your signature. It was so good we removed it because we cannot think of one so good as you had and need to protect others from seeing such a great signature.

Wow this thread has been interesting reading, lots to think about.

I'm not ready to be with anyone else, but this thread has made me think of things I hadn't considered before.
Anyway I have an illness which I would say majorily affects my life. Whilst I don't need a carer or anything I haven't been able to work for the past 3 years because of it. My condition is improving a bit and I'm actually waiting to start a job, but it is highly unlikely that I'll ever be able to work full time. When does everyone think I should mention about this?

On the other hand, I don't really want to mention about the illness on my profile because I think no one who has actually read my profile would message me.

Coin Operated Girl - how does this work for you now that you've had some dates? Certainly sounds like it is all going well :T

I ask as I'm partially sighted, so it does affect what I do & although I'm job hunting, realistically I'll be lucky to find anything so I'll never be a high earner again. But I am older than you, not planning on any more children & thankfully has an ex who pays a decent amount of maintenance so I wouldn't be financially dependent on anyone.

But I didn't consider it from the man's point of view. I guess I could come across as wanting a man for money or needing a carer, neither of which is true!

Any comments? You all seem like a lovely bunch, so please be honest!

Also heard of a success story from Match - friend of a friend is moving in with a girl he met on there last year! Didn't hear of any horror stories either, both had a few dates with lovely-but-not-right-for-them people before they met each other.
And I find that looking back at you gives a better view, a better view...

Watching Strictly with a glass of wine. As I always do - don't think I've missed an episode in years so you can see how many hot dates I've had on Saturday nights :rotfl:

A very early night for me: trying to shake off a 'flu bug which has left me SO TIRED.

No dates on the horizon for me. Not really fussed either way at the moment!

lol @RW, its not just me that likes to have a wind up every now and again?
I had one last night, reckoned he was a soldier out in Afghan, said he was in army and trained at Lympstone, I know for a fact that's a Marine base. Was chatting on msn, he invited me for cam chat so I put it on, his came up black, but I could make something out (like he'd covered his cam up) and he said they didn't have cams out there.... then it was all the usual naughty questions... yawn!
Plus his pics looked like an american male model... oh if they had half a brain...
