Its just nice for me. I hardly every get drunk so not really into hangovers etc.
The fact they don't drink doesn't mean they expect you not too. I never drink at home and it wouldn't bother me if a partner cracked open some wine. I'd just rather have a coffee at home rather than alcohol.
Oh and Scott as a fellow man do not under any circumstance send a message if she's not responded to the previous message. Just makes you look stalkerish or desperate.0 -
can I just tell you one thing about PoF - it shows you as being logged in when you're not. About three weeks ago, I started work at 5pm and had last logged in to the site to reply to a message about 3.30. A friend who is also on the site showed me on her mobile at work that I was still showing as being on line at 7pm! So I never ever look to see who is logged in that I have spoken to. If I get a message notification I log in, reply and then log straight back out - I've always done that, so don't take the showing as being on line to be gospel.0

Good point VP, sometimes I just log on to read mail and reply when I have the time, multiple messages because I haven't responded usually get deleted and blocked!can I just tell you one thing about PoF - it shows you as being logged in when you're not. This is true, I have been asked what I was doing online at 3 in the morning, when I was tucked up asleep in bed. I had just shut down the page rather than logging out of the site!Be who you are, say what you feel, those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind. They say that talking to yourself is a sign of mental illness. I have the POF app so if I get a message I check it on that but I won't bother replying until I'm on my laptop which can take a day or two. I had one guy send me a really arsey message a couple of hours after he sent me another message accusing me of ignoring him and just stringing him along because he knows that I've been online and that I should just tell him I'm not interested in him. I wasn't ignoring him, I just wasn't at home so I couldn't be bothered to reply to his first message. He's blocked now. Psycho.
Oh and I've got a second date tonight with the guy who had to cancel yesterdayKnock me down I'll get right back up again, I'll come back stronger than a powered up Pac-Man0 -
Interesting to read through some stuff on this thread as I have used Internet dating sites a fair bit in the past. I've always had a decent experience, never had a long term relationship but met and dated some interesting women. Also, I have a number of friends who have met their long term partners this way, so I think that it certainly IS one of the best ways to meet people in this day and age.
One mistake I think people make is that someone on a net dating site is desperate, and people get offended when they get no response to their messages. The fact is that the man/woman who has ignored your message just doesn't fancy you and is doing the best thing in not wasting your or their time in replying.0 -
All a bit quiet for me on the dating front at the moment. My date from the weekend is out of the UK for 2 weeks, though we've arranged to meet up when he's back (assuming he doesn't forget about me ;-)).
No-one else on the horizon but that's fine for me - up to eyes in work and 'flu!
Re: the alcohol on 1st dates. I ALWAYS get nervous so do like a glass of wine to ease those nerves. But a glass is about my limit. Nothing attractive about a VERY drunk me!!0 -
Frustratingly quiet for me. Is it the time of year? I had dates coming out my ears in the summer! Now I'm struggling to maintain email conversations. Over half the messages I've sent reamain unread despite the guys who i've been writing to either winking at me or putting me in their 'favourites'.0

Sometime I really despair at the messages I get...
"hey babesI moving up by you next week maybe I'll pop in for a cup of tea and hopefully have you over the kitchen work top, be our secret lol
xxxxxx
xxx"
