Ouch! That's a bit personal and a bit unfair. He was only trying to make me feel better!
He is not socially inept at all and really rather lovely. The sort of genuinely nice bloke that I wish I could meet over the internet or in real life!
In any case, read through people's experiences on this thread and there is the anecdotal evidence that people are socially inept, players, not ready for commitment etc.... It's certainly been my experience though I did meet my best friend through internet dating and two very lovely ex-boyfriends who I'm still friends with! I'm not saying everyone on there is awful, but I think a certain amount of weeding out is necessary, as someone else has already said!
Ive been on and off POF for about 4 years...had an 18mth relationship with someone I met from it...Ive made a number of very good friends along the way too...Friends who I would do anything for and vice versa...I can count on one hand the bad dates Ive met from dating sites in that four years...to say 99% are socially inept is a slur some very lovely people0 -
