I've been chatting to a guy on POF since yesterday and he seems nice so I suggested we meet - got a coffee date on Thursday afternoon
I've got a feeling this might turn out to be one of those who is better online than irl so have arranged it so that we'll only have a couple of hours. How do people go about cutting a date short if it turns out to be a disaster?Never say never0 -
A guy messaged me a few weeks ago even though I had stated I was no longer looking for anyone.(POF). He then IM'd me, and he seemed nice, though a lot younger than me - and he said he thought my status might have been an old one.
He was chatting again today, seemed nice and as he worked in my town, said perhaps we could meet up for a drink - presumably as friends.
We exchanged mobile numbers and I said when he was free he could ring and I would see if I was available
Then he asked if I had heard of this spa, and said perhaps I'd like to go there with him one day. It's a naturist spa! Funnily enough, my phone then rang and I had to say 'got to go'Not Rachmaninov

I have an arrangement with my lodger. He texts me to make sure I am okay. If I just send a 'x' back, he phones me whining about being stuck outside the house and forgotten his keys. I tell him off, make my excuses, and leave.
I've only had to do it once, but it did work.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
And now i'm being ignored
No idea why.
Oh well it was fun whilst it lasted *sigh*...NEXT!This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
The guy I went on a date with on Sunday hasn't text/called me. I asked him to tell me when he's next free but heard nothing so far. Should I text him? He doesn't seem to be making much effort if I'm honest as I've had to do most of the work.0

Oh nohow long has this been for?
Maybe send him one last text and if he doesn't reply then delete his number and delete him out of your life and shout NEXT!!!!0 -

I'd leave it up to him, especially if you've had to do most of the work so far. If you already told him to text you when he's next free and he genuinely wants to see you again he'll get in touch by my reckoning.
Got my coffee date in just over an hour, I wonder if he'll have a wooden leg and no teeth??Never say never0 -

Actually, that's what I know would be the sensible thing to do but if it were me and I wanted to see him again I'd probably text him, lol :rotfl:Never say never0 -

Lol that's the thing, I want to text him but I don't want to at the same time?! (if that makes sense!) I really do want to see if he makes the effort as I had to ask him out for a drink the first time around.
If he doesn't want to see me again then that's fine but I wish he'd at least text me to tell me. It doesn't take 2 mins to type out "sorry I'm not intersted but it was nice meeting you." (Or something similar!)
Good luck with your coffee date! Let us know how it goes!0
