I have/had a POF profile but I forgot the log in, and I hadn't even put the right info up, It was to send a message to someone, and I kept getting harrassed by messages :rotfl: my picture was a bumblebee hah!

What do you do if someone has viewed your profile and you quite like the sound/look of them?

Does it mean they have looked at your profile and don't think you're their type or they don't message because their shy, scared of rejection? Ahhhhhhh! I don't think I'm cut out for this:p

Could be anything, if you like the sound of them there is nothing to lose in sending a quick message x

Just go for it, I already have a couple of times. No response but it doesn't matter - it clearly wasn't meant to be if no response!

Either that or you could send hateful rude emails if they don't respond in a day! :D

You can have a nosey, I'm not easily embarassed and don't mind people having a laugh, even if it's at my expense! :rotfl:

I can't post my profile name on the main thread though just in case anything else I post on this site (vent/employment etc.) could do me harm!

Don't listen to Lisa! She REALLY sent me the following PM:

You're balding, greying and your skin is tired. You're dull and nerdy and have no good interests.. AND you're only 23! Other than that you have a lot going for you :rotfl:
  • This is fast becoming my fave MSE saving thread, thanks guys :j

Must say my strangest experience was with a guy on pof who lived about 30 mins away, we chatted everyday via an instant messenger for hours and one night i just told him to come on over (yes i know that breaks all the 'rules'). Well anyway he got three streets away and called me asking for directions then he never showed up, thought he really had died or something. There's pretty unlikely he could have ended up getting the street name without actually being in it. I guess my Cornish southern drawl on the phone scared him off, ooooo arrrrrghhhh and i never heard from him again- how rude

He didn't actually die in case your wondering, as he logged back in to POF to check his messages a couple of hours later. Talk about getting cold feet :rotfl:

XxmessedupXx - it's horrible when you're waiting for someone to make the first move isn't it? To be honest though, I've found that if the bloke is keen then you will always hear from him- I know that some people think that women have as much 'right' to initiate contact first or arrange the dates, but I think that men still like that feeling of being the 'chaser' rather than the 'chasee'.

I think this is why when you're not interested in a man, and you don't bother replying as quickly or you seem a bit distant, they seem all the keener! I know it's hard, but playing it cool is really the best option- just remember the bottom line is that if they're interested then you'll hear from them (and you save any heartache of messages being ignored)

It's not game playing- it's that I don't think men read so much into situations or analyse texts or emails the way that women do- they're more black and white; if they like someone they go for it, if they don't then they won't...!
I bought my friend that book "He's Just Not That Into You" and we always try and remember that when we're wondering why some guy didn't ring when he said he would after a seemingly great date...!

Hope you did hear back from him though!
Well he did message back and we had a (short as he was going to bed) chat.

But the ball is now firmly in his court so to speak.

Tempted to post a status about going to the cinema on wednesday and see if he takes the hint haha

    p.s. i love this thread :D

Is it because of all the bashing of the new guy on this thread? I thought I was self-deprecating enough to get away with being hounded to the hills :D

I think my profile is sorted now thanks to the awsome Lisa... I just have to sort out my "opening message" now. The first one I sent was me asking what her favourite pancake topping was :rotfl:

I like the sound of that, makes a change from the bog standard "hey how are you" messages. :) I tend to send similar messages though its a bit hit and miss. Evidently i come across as a little crazy which some people dont mind and others run a mile from :D

Ask them how many pickled onions they can fit in their mouths. I reckon you are onto a winner with that line. It would make me go and try it at any rate!
  • Glad you heard back from him xXMessedUpXx!
And I think you're doing the right thing by letting him make the next move- be strong and patient!

That's what I thought! 524 messages later though and not a single response!

My headline was also "Schizo and neither of us are weird" - I know it's not PC but I really don't think people understand these days... so I had to change it to "looking for a trout fed up of getting carp". Again, no response.

The second message I sent was "Do you have a tree outside your bedroom window that I can sit in. I like to lick stamps." That didn't fly either.

Buttonmoons how many pickled onions can you fit in your mouth?
