I'm about to file my claim on line but just need to clarify a couple of small points first as I don't want to make a silly mistake, I've tried reading for the answer but my brain is turning to fishfood!

After reading another post, do I need to state the charge details i.e. what the charge is for? The printout from the online calculator just shows charge amount and charge date, there wasn't a column for type of charge. Does this matter?

As I send the claim online, do I need to put a copy of the claim in the post and if so, how do I find out where this should be posted to?

Thanks for all your help guys!

    Hi all..

I'm currently 22 days though the MCOL process (the bank has put in an Acknowledgement). I have received a letter this morning offering the full £494 minus the interest, as a good will jesture - though this letter has arrived at my old address, and not the one marked up as the correspondence address from MCOL...

I'm thinking that this means it is nothing to do with my ongoing court case, and its to do with the bank responding to my first two letters, saying you've got 14 days or I'm taking you to court...

    Should I just hold out for a further 7 days when they'll owe me the £494 + interest + £80 court fee = £680
    - that is if they dont defend in that time...!!

    Any advice ?

Just an update - I received a cheque in the post this morning for the full amount owed = amount + interest + court charges !!

    Wooooo Hoooo!!

Hold in there people, its worth it in the end...

Though, I've just noticed that they have missed a letter outta my surname on the cheque!! DOH!!

is it me or is anyone else having problems filling in court services on-line.
I have filled in my address, click next, but this is where my problems begin. It says that there is a problem with the fields, where i have put in my name and address < > & cannot be used. i have not put these in. if i ignore i go right to the submit but it won't proceed any further.

... sent me a letter offering me £750 as full and final settlement, this is what I sent back:

Thank you for your letter dated 27 April 2007, which I received on 2 June 2007 (postmarked 1 June 2007) regarding my claim. I am writing to inform you that I cannot accept your offer of £750.00 as full and final settlement of my claim. I will accept this as part payment and without prejudice, but will continue my claim for the balance.

Please also note this payment has not yet been received and it is now 14 working days late. I will require a cheque payment as I have now closed my account with you.

I have made a reasonable effort to settle this claim before issuing a court claim, but you ignored my efforts to settle this. Seeing as I have now had to issue a court claim because of your failure to deal with my claim in a timely way, I will now settle only for the full amount of charges+statutory interest+court fee.

I'm sure they just made a typo with the date, but I thought I'd point it out to them (I'm such a b!tch sometimes!!) :rotfl:

Barclays have Acknowledged my claim with one day to go.

I sent my claim details to the court and the bank when i filed my claim.

    What happens now?

Any advice would settle my nerves. I am getting concerned now.

    Thanks.

They now have a total of 28 days from when they were served with the claim, to either put in a defence or pay up.
So, over the next couple of weeks I'd read your way through the MCOL thread, this one that tells you how to deal with solicitors letters, and finally this one that discusses what happens when banks file a defence.
I think more and more often, banks do defend claims, so you need to be sure you know how to deal with their paperwork etc.
