They are defending my claim

I have just checked online and Lloyds TSB are disputing the whole amount. What it actually says is:
You are unable to take any further action online on this claim.
The Defendant disputes the whole amount you have claimed. Your claim cannot proceed online and will be transferred to the appropriate court for continuation. You will receive confirmation to where the claim has been transferred to shortly
What now, will I have to go to court. If so the court is in Northampton and I live in Cardiff.

rcmycash4,
I've received the same letter this morning and my bank is Lloyds TSB. I feel you should remember two things:
First, Martin writes in his article that this is entirely normal and it should not cause alarm.
Second, you are not doing anything wrong by disputing these charges through the courts - they are unlawful and so you have a right to get back your money! They've had it long enough.
All the best

Can anyone help me......... Im getting worried....
I followed the instructions and letters shown on Martins website & paid the £10 for the list of all fee's paid etc from the bank, which I have.
I then made an online claim for £1,500 from Lloyds bank via the Northhampton small claim court at a cost of £120. The banks solicitor has filed a defence, stating they defending the whole claim !! not even part of it ?. So the Northampton court has now moved the case to my local county court and made me pay another £100 court fee, Which I had to pay or may end up paying for the banks fee's & solicitor etc. I have got a one month wait on the case, but now im getting very nervous !!!... Should I get myself a solicitor ?? or go it alone - which the thought is very scary.. I have sent the banks solicitor the list of charges & the interest im charging (using martins online calculator)...
Just found out my wife is pregnant and the court claim has cost me £220 so far...... Im getting ear ache from the wife, just to let it be and end the claim, but im not going to !! ..if I lose the claim I may even lose the wife via a divorce !!
So do you think I should get a solicitor ??!!.
Thankyou for any helpful hints

The banks solicitor has filed a defence,
So do you think I should get a solicitor ??!!.
This is quite common, the bank are disputing the whole amount because this delays matters. You don't need to get a solicitor. If your court hasn't dispensed with Allocation Questionnaires, you will get one to fill in. Check in the Reclaim Help thread in my signature on how to do this. You should then get a court date. Sometime before this date, the bank are likely to offer payment in full.0 -
Can anyone tell me what to do now? I have taken my bank to court and have today found out that its defending my claim against it. What do I do from here on  Is it normal for the banks to enter a defence??0

Hi,
I've got exactly the same thing with the Abbey. Ive used all of the templates on the site but Abbey have defended and I have just received a copy of their defence which does look particularly standard.
What is the next step? Do I just ask for a judgment on the moneyclaim site, or do I need to prefer a counter argument. Any advice form anyone who has gone through this and succeeded would be gratefully appreciated.
