What i would do is post them a new list of charges you intend to claim for , also telling them that you are now claiming through the legal process via MCOL .Post it to them (via recorded delivery ) the same day as you fill in and submit your MCOL

Thanks ill get right on it.

How many lines are you using?

Particulars of claim (You are allowed 1080 characters on up to 24 lines.)

Hi thanks for helping. I am fine with the particulars of claim. It is is just on the first page when I put in my details, it keeps rejecting it saying I have used some characters like & < > etc. It also says I must put in my post code too when I have done so. I have filled in and deleted it and started again umpteen times so far and it still tells me that I have transgressed. I have tried lower case, upper case, not using tabs etc. but it won't let me past. I saw where some other people on the forum had had this problem but I can't see where it says how they sorted it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am tearing my hair out with it!

You do need to do the particulars of claim all in one block of text. I presume they can copy and paste into something like Word to make it more readable. ISTR that I got the message about the &<> characters and I hadn't used any - I suspect it may pop up automatically, just in case. As advised above, I also note that the bit about claiming interest is duplicated in the templates.

    Hi

RBS acknowledged claim yesterday, the date was up today. Do i now have to just wait for them to file a defence or do i need to do anything more on MCOL?

    Thanks in advance

I have not so far added the request for interest in my claim to the Woolwich. Is it too late to add it at the moneyclaim online stage without notifying the bank previously of my intention to do so?

I am keen to get this over with as it has been hanging over my head for so long especially as I lost (der!) the original data sent by the Woolwich and had to request a second lot!

    All advice gratefully received.

If you haven't filed the moneyclaim yet, you can add interest, if you have filed, you could change the claim, but that would cost £35. Neither way do you have to inform the bank - they get the claim form from the court and will see you have added interest. Technically, you are only entitled to interest once you file a court claim anyway.

Thanks for that. I haven't filed the claim yet - just got it all prepared and wasn't sure what to do about addition of interest. Full steam ahead now then.

I will report back on what happens and meanwhile start claims against NatWest, Egg, Virgin and Halifax.

Have to admit being a complete numpty but if it helps anybody else not have to go through two days of sheer frustration I don't mind. Finally got through on the phone and I was ticking the box on the first page which was sending it all haywire. Glad to report I have successfully filed my claim now. Many thanks.
