    Well done Soolin!

I've down a trawl of some charity shops in a different town to usual this morning, and have picked up a few books that look interesting, so fingers crossed. Off to list them now.
  • Hi, I'd like to say what a great forum this is! I've been lurking for ages and thought it was time to register!! I have sold around 30 odd books thanks to this site!! So cheers everyone!

I've just sold a couple of specialised history books through amazon. I have loads on this subject and thought it would be good to include a list of my other books that might interest the buyer, or at least provide a link in an email to my other amazon books. Does anyone know a way to create a list of books and descriptions without me having to copy/paste and type it all out again? Also is including a link in my email to the buyer to my market place items acceptable?

    thanks

    Hi butterfly72

Assuming you're not a pro merchant, I found 2 ways:

For a full list, go to your seller account, then to View your ratings and Feedback, then right-click on See More Items From This Seller, select Copy Shorcut, then paste this shortcut into your email to the purchaser.

For individual books, go to your list of open listings, right-click on the link to the listing, copy shortcut, then paste into email

Today I picked up 50+ books from a car boot, the subjects for most of the books is mind power, witches, memory and similar.
    My question is:

Two books that are not for sale on Amazon, that I searched for on Bookfinder are coming up at high prices....??

    The books are:

The new way to multiplied mind power

    and

How to change yourself and your life-without will power or effort !

can these prices be a true reflection of their value?

There are many other books I have to check yet I dont want to list them at silly prices, just for the sake of it....what would you do?
Also, how do you check when a book is not listed, that there is a buyer waiting for it/and what price they are willing to pay?
Thankyou for any comments.....my Amazon name is buyoffdeb

I'm not sure about the 2 books you mentioned, maybe someone else with more experience of selling 'off amazon' will help out. I only sell on amazon really, apart from no-hopers that I put on GM where they sit and rot!

When a buyer is wating there will be a message on the page you fill in when you list, it will be top right of the page, it's so long since I saw one that I'm having trouble picturing it! :o
It will give you the average price that the waiting buyers are willing to pay. You don't have to list at that price of course, you could go even higher because it's possible that if the book is SO popular there may be some people that haven't officially requested it that will pay more - if it doesn't work you can always come down again

Ive only checked the first book so far but suspect the second one will be the same.

Theres only one copy of the first book listed anywhere on the net and in fact I dont think its a book at all as it has no ISBN. I suspect its a seminar brochure. I also suspect that the seller has just plucked a figure out of thin air and the question has to be is there anyone out there looking for this publication and if so would they pay such a ludicrously high figure for it?

    I suspect not!

Its difficult to know where to start to put a price on this but would suggest maybe £ 50 which you can then lower after a period of time if it hasnt sold.

Thankyou...I will do what you suggest,it seems 'mad' to put such a high price on a book, just because it has no other listings. As far as rare 1st editions, where there possibly is a record of high prices being paid-then you at least have a clear idea that 'top' money can be gained off a "plucked out of thin air" figure.....

Once again many thanks for All the advice so far, kind regards Debbie
