Yes - the pro-merchant discount applies to all items not just books.0 -
on the listings pages, some of my items are in a brown fonr rather than blue EG.
British history [hardcover] compared to:
The da vinci code [paperback]
Can someone please explain this as i am a little confused.:rolleyes:AMAZON SELLERS CLUB MEMBER 00720 -
the brown ones are links you have clicked on - the blue ones are those you haven't0

One of the books I bought and listed yesterday was a teach yourself Turkish book. I thought that as people are both holidaying there more and buying property there it might sell well - and I've just netted a little over £7 for it:j
Only cost me 30p so I'm very happy with that. I shall now also be looking out for teach yourself Bulgarian I think0 -
lot's of advice on here about selling on amazon, much good, some not so good.
I would thoroughly recommend that MSE users who are selling on amazon access the seller discussion boards there, as there is much advice available there, and in the main it is willingly provided by people who sell there for a living and others with massive amounts of experience.
Could I also refer back to the original advice given at the start of this thread in relation to pricing. It is advised to price match, rather than undercut. What is not mentioned is that many professional sellers use pricing software to ensure their copy is the cheapest available, so by undercutting you may only gain a price advantage for a few hours.
The other thing to consider when listing items for sale is the sales rank of the item you are selling, the lower the figure the faster it is likely to sell.
And finally, the advice about price matching is invalid for small sellers when pricing books heavier than 1kilo as many amazon sellers have royal mail postal accounts and can make profit from selling a 1.75kilo book at a penny and it would only cost them about £1.27 to post, where others would have to pay over £5 to post it.Do You Twitter?

rare_stuff, you say that some of the advice here is not so good, do you have any particular instances as I'm sure if any inaccurate info is shown as 'fact' that people would prefer to have it amended, or at least discussed.
Incidentally many of us do read the seller boards on Amazon as well.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
