But then I might end up with 2 books for 2 years before they sell
Is there any way to check how well books sell? Sometimes i'll do a completed listing check on Ebay but it obviously wont always relate to how well they will sell on Amazon.
You could check Ebay for completed listings, it might give you a clue - although they are not always the same customer base. However, if you have the £2 book and your own book and someone really wants a copy then they will probably buy the UK book - which would be yours at £30.
But you are right you could end up with 2 pensioners in 2 years time

now this post is not going to be much use to the majority of you but i have noticed a few fellow norfolk people on here and just thought i would mention that if any of you are in the norwich area next weekend there is a small town approx 10 miles outside called wymondham and they are having a 2 day(friday and saturday) 2nd hand book sale, i don't know how good it will be but the last one they had was very good unfortunately i was not addicted to sdn as i am now so never took advantage:rotfl:
also in the town there is 5 charity shops one has a big bookroom some good deals in there and a library which comes in handy
just thought i would share the info
cheers:beer:

I thought I would bump Kev's post for you. Wymondham isn't that big, couldn't you just turn up on Friday or Saturday and have a wander round? Maybe ask at the library?
I wish I was closer sounds like fun.

that would be the very easy and logical solution to my problem !!
Unfortunately my mum is giving me a lift and watching my little sprogs whilst im [STRIKE]in heaven [/STRIKE] browsing. She is working overnight on thurs, and we have a trip planned to london for the saturday, so she has said I have to find out an exact time so she can sleep up to the last minute, add to that my eldest being at nursery
If i turn up and its nothing but smelly books and old women you will all hear me scream from where ever you are !!! :rotfl:
Thanks FFM, you guys seem to be my " Amazon-related therapy support group " at the moment :T

Ah, I see your problem - Okay, getting really cheeky here, how about phoning the library the NCC website gives the following info:
For further information please telephone (01953) 603319 or send an email to wymondham.lib@norfolk.gov.uk
And under 'services' they list 'community information' - like my old Dad used to say 'don't ask don't get'. Some librarians are still keen to help with local information.
And why is it that 'others' fail to understand the need to spend so much time browsing books?..... It's so far from boring ...

To be honest I was scared about ringing the library in case they told me off for wasting their time !! ( some of those librarians can be scary)
Will pop into local one tomorrow and ask (im very near wymondham) and then work up bottle to ring wymondham,

aaaaaagggghhh
Just had an email from a buyer "Thanks for the book, but I really wanted the tape." My description "Tape missing" nothing else, just that!
I've said I'll refund the price of the book if she returns it, but not the postage cost. Is that reasonable?ilovefreegle.org - give it away don't throw it away0 -
Is it possible to do a partial refund on Amazon? cos i have sold a book my DH listed as good for buyers price £4.10 but it is heavily underlined and highlighted and even annotated on the contents page so it really is only acceptable. I have offered the buyer a refund or a reduction of £1.50. If they take the reduction will i be able to do it on amazon or will i have to send them a cheque?
thanks:j Baby bonce was born on Christmas morning after a ridiculously short labour and no pain relief! If only losing the baby weight was as easy!:T0 -

Yes you can do a partial refund from the refund page. Just remember to refund out of the item amount not from the postage charge because you will get a partial refund of the fees from Amazon.0
