  • Not something I did on purpose -

Whne i was younger I tried on a dress in C&A - I really liked it but at £15 it was out of my budget. When I took it off I accidentally got deoderant marks on the fabric (which I thought nothing of). When I went back into the shop a week later I found that the dress had been reduced to £5 because of the marks so I snapped it right up!

i don't know if they were doing this for money saving reasons or just because they were plain weird... but when i worked at a call centre a few years ago; somebody would reguarly steal the toilet brushes from the gents, along with the rubber mats in the urinals (to stop stuff clogging them up). The toilet brushes were 50p from Asda and we worked opposite Asda; i had visions of somebody using blue rubber pee mats as coasters.

a lady at church who used to be a missionary told me once that when she was away, she used to receive parcels of used, dried teabags & she really looked forward to them. it was the only tea she had.
I felt really sorry for her.

Ok, if anyone hears of a current day Missionary doing this, let me know and I'll send them a catering pack of new teabags.

We talked a bit about grocery costs earlier on in the forum..so how much do you spend on food?
And how many of you to feed?

    This question goes to everyone...
Even when you feel like you have nothing, someone else has far less. Find them and help them. You’ll see why.....

  • Like the poster who mentioned not using the bathroom light at night, neither do I, in fact I don't use the hall light either, it only goes on when I have visitors! Why should I use them them if there is enough light coming through the glass of the door.

I always wipe my toothbrush with a tissue after I clean my teeth, but then use it to wipe round the sink and the window ledge.

I hate buying wrapping paper for a specific occasion, so it is always neutral. Recently bought a large red roll in Costco for about £7, will last me years and when I had to let a friend use it (strangely she decided that her son would not be too impressed with pink wrapping paper) recently, I discovered that the back of it is actually grid marked, so hopefully should become an expert in cutting straight & only cutting the necessary amount.
A smile costs little but creates much :)

There seems to be an obsession with loo roll on this forum. Perhaps we need a Loo -Roll -And- What- we- Do -With- It thread all of its own.
Me,well I squash the roll and always blow my nose before using it elsewhere. I also have a roll in the car ,to use instead of tissues for snotty noses,or to clear mist off the mirror. I just assume its cheaper than tissues, has anyone done a cost comparison on this?
