Firstly, may I say thankyou to this board. I haven't really contributed before, but thanks to you all I have has 2 reclaims upheld so far.
I wanted to share with you the converstation I've just had with Natwest, as I find it shocking!
I've just phoned Natwest ppi team to chase my payment, it's been 30 working days, to be told that it was passed to the credit card team for payment on the 17th November.
So of course I called the CC team to chase, only to be told that as my card is closed, I would have to write to them to claim my money. This of course could take up to 28 days........
My question to them was "Just when were you going to tell me that my money is stuck in the back office somewhere, and that I would have to write to you yet again to recieve it?"
There answer was that it was not their ( the CC team) responsibility!!
I have sent an email with highlights to mr Teerlink (I hope this is the right person) I started this claim in January 2009!! I am now going to take a short walk to calm down.......0 -
Natwest credit card PPI
Made phonecall to PPI claimline on 19th Aug, received offer letter 2nd Nov (2K+), Cheque received today. Think I have been lucky to have such a quick turnaround, but pretty straightforward case - wasn't even working when sold the PPI! Have to say they have been pretty good with me, but I know that's not the case with everyone. Hope you all get paid soon.xx0 -

I received the following text on the 20/12/11: "We are pleased to advise your PPI case XXXXX has been paid and should reach you within the next 7 days. Written confirmation will follow in due course." Well it's now the 5th of January and... nothing! I chose to be paid into my account so I'm not expecting a cheque. They did pay "interest" into my account the day before though. I called the RBS/Natwest PPI 0800 number and they confirmed the interest payment and was told seven working days for the balance. Now I'm confused. Anybody else have this problem??0 -
I got a text today from RBS saying that my case has been paid and should reach me within the next 7 days. Written confirmation will follow in due course.
Much Later today, I got a text from RBS saying:
Thank you for returning your acceptance form. We typically expect to make payment within 28 days of receipt.
Confused. It's a credit card with a balance greater than the PPI payout, so I assume they just put it on the card to pay off that amount?
Also, I have a royal mail attempted delivery of a special delivery letter needing a signature. Could this be from RBS? Would they send confirmation special delivery?
Sorry for all the questions.0 -
Can you tell me the Email address for Mr Teerlink & Mr Hester? Thanks0

Hi All
I'm new to this forum but have been reading all the previous posts with interest. DH and I have finally got our behind's into gear today to start claims for PPI thorugh Natwest.
Cutting a long story short, DH has a car loan with Natwest which he is still repaying at the mo. He thinks he took this out in about 2006 sometime, so I asked him to contact Natwest today to get full details of the date the loan was taken out, how much PPI ha sbeen paid etc. Well turns out he has had several loans with them since 2001 and Natwest have told him that the PPI payments are as follows:
2001 Loan - £254 PPI paid
2004 Loan - £3562 PPI paid
2005 Loan - £4884 PPI paid
So a total of nearly £9000 PPI paid! Gobsmacked is not the word!!! The issue we have is that he can't remember if these are all seperate loans or just one extended loan, and doesn't have details of account numbers or any policy numbers for PPI etc.
I've had a look on the site and at the template complaint form but looks as though we'll need all this info to start making a claim, so today we have sent Natwest a letter asking for ALL info about any loans he has ever had from them, including all info about PPI on those loans.
Would I be right in thinking this is the best way to go about it before we actually submit a claim form? From reading this thread looks like most people have had their claim accepted and had an offer from Natwest, is this generally after the official claim form has been completed or just from sending them a letter?
Any help/advice would be much appreciated

All my dad did was send in a hand written letter stating reasons for miss sell, or ring them and make a complaint over the phone, easy as that! My dad didn't need his account numbers in the letter as he still banks with them, he just told them name address etc.. GoodluckLiving in our forever house!

Long time reader, first time poster
Can anyone share any updates on experiences of current processing times please? I've had confirmation that Natwest logged my complaint on the 12th January and they are currently saying they will turn complaints round in the standard FSA timescales of 8 weeks, just wondering if they're meeting the target.
The confirmation letter didn't quite stack up as well. Having read people's experiences on here I complained through the dedicated PPI telephone number. The person I spoke to went through the reason for the complaint and logged it, and a subsequent call confirmed a reference number, however the letter confirming the complaint had been logged provided a breakdown of the loans and PPI amounts I've had, and then said I should write back if I wanted to take the complaint forward. I sent them back a letter and completed FOS form the following day by recorded post, but does that mean they're not actively pursuing the complaint until they process my letter? I've not provided any new information I didn't provide on the phone. Has anyone else had this?0 -
By the sounds of it Natwest are absolutely shocking in all respects!
I called the dedicated PPI department today to ask for information on all previous e.g. start dates, starting balances and amount of PPI paid on each, only to be told by the advisor that they don't release this information as it "is of no concern to me" and they will start to process a claim today!!! I told him it was very much of concern to me being as it is us who has been mis-sold the PPI!!!
I ended up speaking to a supervisor who again refused to provide this information, but did state that claims will be started today for 3 loans and we should recieve an acknowledgement letter within 7-10 working days.
Seems to me like they don't have any sort of set procedure and it really depends on who you speak to!
Kafkaesque - I would imagine they will not pursue your claim until they process the letter you have sent by recorded delivery. Might be me being cynical but seems to me like they will try any and every stalling tactic in the book to try and avoid paying out.
Good Luck and don't give up!
