    Hi dizzie

I am sooooo jealous of those four payments.... just think how much easier life will be in October.

I bet the scarf looks great. Could you sell them anywhere? Craft fair or summer fete? Maybe you could get commissions for Christmas.

How's it going with the dreaded supermarket? I was horrified to see that we went six times last week  OH is late home from work today and I just bet he's in Waitrose too.

    Hi Seaxwyn
I love changing my sig. to one less loan payment, just have to work on my overdraft and more card after that but at least I'll have more money to do it with. All teaching and special support assistants are supposed to be getting a 'significant' pay rise in July backdated from April but I'll not get excited till I see it with my own eyes. They've been telling us that for years!!!
Shopping is still rubbish. Jst walked up to the chippy with ds, see what I mean. We did have oven chips in but they're not the same are they?
That's a good idea about the scarves. I could make one using coloured squares and put it on ebay just to see how it goes. We still get the odd cold Spring day don't we? I notice people are crocheting the squares and selling them in bundles on ebay. Might try that too. Honestly it's so easy to do anyone could learn. Why don't you try, there are great sites too to help if you're stuck. Hope you're well and things going the right way for you too.

    Hello again

I'm always meaning to take up knitting. I've even bought some wool and a book. I just never ever get down to it.

    Hiya, I'm still here too.
I can knit a bit but it takes ages. With crochet it travels really quickly. It only took me three hours to do the scarf. The best thing to get would be a book aimed at children for the basic stitches so would be easier to understand. Don't mean that in a cheeky way just that with the basic stitches you can make loads of things and then get a more advanced book when you've mastered that, if you wanted to do more. I still get confused with crochet patterns and tend to stick to basics anyway. Go on give it a try, it'll keep you out of the shops, mind you not the wool shops though!:D

Hi, just wanted to say that if you find out how to do basic crochet stitches, it grows a lot faster than knitting so you get a good result in a shorter period of time. Am following you diary with interest, have a kind of diary on of my own, it's difficult to get into the whole writing every little thing down bit, though I used to do it before. Have never heard of your winter bag thing - is this just at Tesco, and I know this might sound daft but is it just during winter months?

Hi Mousegirl. You're right about crochet it's much faster than knitting and not as boring, to me anyway, because the results are quicker.
I've got the bags from Tesco at different times of the year I think what they put in are sometimes seasonal. Just ask at the pharmacy counter. They can only say no and as I said they're for customers anyway. Will look for your diary Mousegirl. Hope you enjoy the forum.

Ah well I never learn. Dd phoned me at work and asked me to get some deodorant on the way home.....so.....I called at asda!!!! The deodorant cost me over £30  I know I know, but I did get some shopping in, which I needed, but I would probably have done a shopping list!
Nothing else to report really. Looking forward to relaxing this week-end, hope the weathers nice.

Well quite pleased today. I managed to make a Sunday dinner without a trip to asda. What I made: 3 cheese and onion pasties and a vegan one, roast and mash potatoes, brocolli, sweetcorn, yorkshire puds and gravy. For dessert baked bananas with ice cream. Eldest son couldn't wait as he was on his way out so cooked a pizza. Normally for some reason I would have popped to asda and wandered around until I picked something up. So feeling pretty chuffed and stuffed!!
Bit tired now so am just going to relax.

    Hi GirlRacer
You seem to be doing okay too. It's a great feeling when it's all going well.
I've been to asda today and bought a few things so hopefully won't go for a few days. (in theory) Got paid but of course some has already gone out and once that loan goes out again it'll take me up some but I'm determined to be careful so when the last payment goes out hopefully I'll be a bit more in front.
I can start throwing some at my more card then but not going to go daft otherwise my overaft will just keep going up again, so slowly does it I think.
I know I'm getting out of the habit of wasting money because I'm thinking a lot more about what I'm buying and making better choices. I can't wait till the day when my wages go in and it's all mine. That hasn't happened for years now, so really trying to bear that in mind. And it will happen one day!
I'm sure that anything else I want in the future I'll save up for it if I'm that desperate for it, but to be honest, I can't think of anything I really want, in the material sense.
What else can I add...did go to the pictures with DD to watch Superman 3, now that was good. Taking DD and DS to watch P of the C when it comes out but will go with OH and he'll pay for that. He's also said to think of somewhere nice to go for the day over bank holiday but can't think of anywhere yet. Maybe a little village somwhere and take a picnic if it's nice weather. Very DFW friendly.
So touch wood all going okay moneywise at the moment, well as long as I keep a tight rein on spending this month! But allow for the 'odd' little treat if I want one. As long as 'odd' doesn't become frequent.:D
