Aaah well things been sliding so fast here. Don't know what the hecks been going on with my bank account. Okay it was me your honour!!! I can't remember the last time I was soooooo overdrawn. When wage goes in I'll still be £500 odd overdrawn. I don't get a bad wage either considering I'm only part time and should be quids in. This is really teaching me a lesson. Maths never was my strong point!!! I have got to get a grip of this. I must admit the loan payments are a bloody pain. The trouble is they go out a week before I get paid so it seems to !!!!!! everything up. At least I've only got 5 more then I can concentrate on my credit card payments and throw more at it. (in theory) So come september I'll be £275 a month better off at least. I know my shopping is all up the swanny but it's so difficult with everyone eating different meals - veggie, vegan and 3 meat eaters. Okay that's an excuse if I'm honest :o Getting really fed-up with it all and feeling like I'm working for nothing. On a more positive note we visited the lakes a couple of times over easter and went to Keswick. Never ventured there before and goodness it's beautiful. We went on the boat launch around Derwentwater and I fell in love with it. Even found somewhere to have a vegan bacon baguette!! That was a lovely change. So must try to get focussed and think that all this effort will be worth it in the end. Sometimes it's so hard and one slip up can cost a fortune. Literally. I'm so glad I got the loan over 12 months only. I wouldn't mind but it was to pay off my barclaycard and get me in the black again. Didn't pay off all the loan (transferred to more card at 3% interest, some went in the bank and the rest was spent on Christmas). Paying for it now though aren't I??? To top it all I forgot to pay my more card in time and just haven't been able to get to the bank so it's 2 weeks overdue. Will write cheque out tonight and call at the bank after work. I mean that's just ridiculous really. I do feel a bit better again about it all. It's amazing how it helps posting on here. I mean I know what I should be doing but don't blimming do it!! Also promised DD some new ghd straighteners, hers have broke now, and they're £100!!! See what I mean. Anyway have moaned enough and feel better for it. :D
Cripes this is a long post!!!

Ok then. I am going to try sooooo hard this month to be as good as possible with my budgeting.
But...I have already spent £210 on my card since being paid though have a good reason for this. Was sons birthday and we gave him some money and said when he'd decided what he wanted we would put the rest to as well. He decided on a psp but to be fair to him he also put other birthday money towards it. So I paid on my card and the cash he's given me I will try and make last for as long as possible. Bought some nuts, soya yogurts etc from holland and barretts but everything was 3 for 2 so a saving there today.
What else....um went to tesco with a list and stuck more or less to it. Did get some flowers but were only £1.99p. Anyway at least I'm feeling positive for the days ahead. DD texted and asked if I want a night out in town but I said no...was thinking of the money so that's good!! (though I did say I'd go to the pictures but she said no to this so maybe not so good after all) ;):D
Think I might have a read now an chill out...will update. Oh and I did remember to get to the bank on friday as well.

Okay day today. Not much to report. Haven't been spending too much and trying to keep from drawing money out of the bank, so hopefully, in a couple of months time, I'll be nearer the black. In theory. Got two books from the library and intend to have an early night and a good read. Went to a couple of car boots on sunday and picked up a lovely holly hobbie plate for £1.50, and a couple of books for next to nothing. Didn't get anything else! Then popped into the co-op were I spent £6 on nothing really. Shouldn't have done that but nevermind. Still a good day.

Gulp!!!!! That's going to take a lot of 30p tshirts to recoup :p

    Keep it up!

I know it's crazy isn't it? Mind you when I first started putting stuff on ebay using the webcam which broke...I would put postage so cheap I ended up practically paying them to buy it from me!! :D Not so soft now though but still have never made a fortune...ah well we keep trying. Hopefully hubby will give me half towards the camera, he doesn't know this yet though :D
Having a bad month, I can't believe I'm so overdrawn at the beginning of the month. Everytime I start with good intentions my alter ego seems to sabotage them and I end up worse off. It's my fault I know. Just been a few bigger purchases this month which couldn't be helped. Have to look forward, what's done is done.

Bit of an update. Have had to be careful this last week as overdraft sky high. But the amazing thing is, because I really have to be, I am. Why can't I be like this all the time and strict with myself while getting the debts down  Just shows I can do it. Mind you, I haven't planned meals and tea times are bit of a pain. Scenario..."What's for tea"? "No idea, look in the fridge". That's awful isn't it but I really haven't got the energy at the moment. I have days where I love cooking and go mad baking too, and then other days I can't be bothered. But I will write a meal menu later. I am soooo not happy with my overdraft. I can't ever remember having it so high nevermind so near after just being paid!!! I'm even banking my copper and 5ps now. Since starting this I've banked £11 in last couple of months. Better than nothing I suppose. Can't blimming wait till my loans paid off in September. It doesn't seem that far to go when I say 5 more payments, then when I think, it's not till september, it seems ages away. I shouldn't complain though, I know there are many people with far greater debts than me, and I don't forget that. M & S card charged £12 for making a late payment. Can't blame them, forgot to pay and then when I remembered, it was getting to the bank. I asked hubby to pay this though and he did but won't forget again, just wasted money isn't it?
Better go now. Rambling on but it feels good.

I'm like this too dizzy, I'm thinking of allocating my money out at the beginning of the month in cash for food and pocket money, everything else is on DD. I think seeing it in cash and the fact that when its gone its gone will make be more careful...well thats what i'm hoping anyway!

Hello dizzy, I haven't seen you around for a while so glad to see you're still here.

Overdrafts urgh I hate them. But that loan will soon be gone. Five months will fly by and when the days start getting cooler, you will make your last payment.

Tea time in your house sounds pretty much like ours - pot luck from the fridge. I wish I could get organised about meal planning. It sounds so simple but it's completely beyond me. But reading about all the people on extreme budgets on this board is making me ashamed of my food spending. The last two months we've spent over £500, I can hardly believe it but my spending diary doesn't lie!

Do you know any good recipes for lentils? as we have loads in the cupboard and the children aren't keen on dhal.

It amazes me too how low some peeps have got there food bill. I am always thinking I should meal plan, but have never got around to it. I used to enjoy cooking, but now its a chore, the youngest won't try anything new and however much we spend on food there never seems to be much food to make a meals with  but I noticed today a thread started by IA on OS about 30 different meals for 30 days and there are some good ideas on there.
