  • Hiya hun...Aw thanks for that. I have actually said no a couple of times to the children these last couple of days when they've asked for money so I'm getting a bit better. It's brilliant you've got some of your bank charges back, just imagine all the money they've been making out of us...! I've said before that I'm going to try on-line shopping but haven't yet. I don't know why because I really hate shopping! So, I will work out my debt free day, add it to my sig. and work towards that. I'd like to have a go at the Olympic Challenge but I couldn't manage Moozies weekly challenge so I don't want to set myself up for a fall. I've joined 'pigsback' I think it's called that but can't understand all this about clickthroughs to earn money so I've given up on that. Ah well onwards and upwards.
Continued best of luck to you :D

  • I'm with pigsback and Quidco and Greasypalm. I'm a little unsure of pigsback as I don't know if I'm doing it right! From what I can gather you gotta click the boxes when they have the pink edges. So far I've got about £5.40. Quidco and Greasypalm are much easier to understand. The only thing is I've signed up ti everything just to have the extra points/cash and now I'm getting e-mails from every imaginable company going!!!

Work out your debt free date and post it in your signature then everytime you log on it'll be there staring you in the face :)
  • I am sooooooo mad  For the second time I've just posted an entry, it was quite long due to me not being on here since Thursday, and it had logged me off!!!! Apparently I should copy and paste my entries according to son. Ok so now really annoyed. But at least now I know why it happens, because of the inactivity whilst I'm typing...anyway thanks GirlRacer for your reply. I am aiming for September 07 for my Debt Free Day/Month. I've chosen September because my last loan payment is due then. I'm so glad I only took it out over a year. So I've told hubby when I get paid this month it might be beans on toast some nights...I'm going to set myself a budget for everyday rather than weekly and 'try' to stick to it. I also have to sort out an amount for Dd spending allowance, whilst she's at college.(Hubby funds this) Unfortunately we don't qualify for any student allowance because our joint income is over the qualifying mark. It's really annoying because it's not over by that much...even just something for travel expenses would have helped. Ah well, to be fair she has looked for some part time work but nothing going. Off to make some late tea now. I do love Sundays except for the fact that it's Monday the day after!!!!
    Continued best wishes to everyone...:D

  • Well have got on here but am being ushered off by Ds. But just to say have entered Moozies challenge and hope to spend between £5 and £10 a day, or not really!!:D Also using this money to buy the odd tea instead of going to Asda. So by Monday hopefully my spending should be between £35 - £70. A lot lot less than it has been!!!! Today though paid my coffee bill which was £9 but have now took my name off this...and my lunches which was £4.50. That'll teach me to take my lunches in, but now I'm straight with my debts at work and it does feel good. Not including those amounts in my challenge though, as already decided they were being paid today. And today have spent the grand total, up to now, of £1 exactly. Oh and won £10 on the saturday lottery, bought two tickets though, and found a £1 in a games machine at the pub on friday when we went to watch 'Martin Turners Wishbone Ash' Feel really positive today. Just popping to the library now, hope it's not closed??!!
    Tatty bye for now :D

Time is 12.24am and thought I'd just update my spending. Library was open as well...Spent 0.98p at Aldi on crisp and cola (it's vegan and not all cola is) and lent son £4. So total today including earlier on is £5.98 so not bad eh??? I've been thinking about my debt free date in september and I'm going to have to pay a fair bit off my balance transf.debt each month to get rid of it by then, but am being positive here. Just need to keep thinking that it'll all be worth it when eventually my wage is mine and NOT the banks!!!!!

  • An okay day.Spent £3.98 in the bakery, gave son 30p and put £5 on my phone. Also banked £5 in copper at the bank (have never done this before) and will transfer this to my savings account, every little helps :D and I'm just going to take some pants and two computer games back to tesco so this will be £9.98 back in my account. Unfortunately I have to buy some soya milk but I'm taking a money off voucher with me for a bit of discount!! And I will not take a credit card with me...oh I'm feeling a bit scared now...but no I will not take a card!!!! Still feeling really positive and eager. Not looking forward to paying a bigger amount off my debt this month but I have to think that the more I do this then the sooner my DFD becomes a reality:D
Best of luck to y'all x:D

Time now 8.50pm. Went to tesco and realised half way there that I'd forgotten my returns!!! Anyway carried on and spent £3.04. The sa accepted only one voucher, she said that's all they take now if you haven't bought the product, but it was a £1 one from the asda magazine, so spent £2.04. Not including the £5 phone top up my spend was £6.32. Not bad I suppose. I am really changing my attitude now to money, I know I am because I'm feeling a bit peeved when I have to spend it which is a good sign I think. Hope I can keep it up.....

  • A good day today again spending wise. Would have been even less but hadn't taken in any dinner (just couldn't decide this morning) and so bought a salad and crisp. Was £1.80 and £1.35 on the way home on a lottery ticket and drink. So £3.15. Good going considering what I'd been spending last month!! Really tired today so going to bed shortly. Head feels like cotton wool. Worked out last night that I need to be paying at least £125 a month off on my balance transfer debt. Not looking forward to doing this but I have to keep September DFD in mind. It'll be worth it in the end...then I'll be doing this :j and this :rotfl:

  • Well up to now spent £5.84, though £2.79 of that was on really strong headache tablets for son. Popping up to tesco soon and will remember this time to take my returns back!! Have got to get some dog food anyway. Really don't want to venture out today. Think I'll have a bath early then I'll just get all snuggly on the couch after tea. Might have to spend some pennies on sweeties  Will update my spending later, if I can get on the computer that is...
21.07pm Well went to tesco and spent £11.53 but...am not too bothered as did buy teas, small box dog food, sweeties (the only vegan ones are american hard gums but they were quite nice) and velvet loo rolls were only £1.92 for 4 rolls plus 2 free so 6 decent loo rolls for £1.92!!!!! Okay yes I have been at the brandy and will read this sober and think what on earth.......so spending today a bit high but not as high as it used to be!!! Definately going to run a bath now and put in some of the sanctuary bath foam I got on 3 4 2. Don't seem to get as good a bargain as some seem to get with their boots vouchers but still, if it's a save it's something isn't it?

  • Just a quick update as tired and going to bed. Did quite well with Moozies challenge. Was between £25 and £50 and spent £54.71.
Yesterday being Saturday spent £14.61, but did buy a present for my neices' boyfriend for passing his driving test. Not much to say really. Will go to Boots tomorrow to use my last voucher before it runs out. Nothing else really planned, just see what the day brings.

  • Decided to overhaul son's bedding today so bought a new duvet and cover set and pillowcases in brown and blue. Looks really nice. But cost me £38. Ah well it needed it. Also spent £5.80 in the bakery. Will add bakery money to my Moozies challenge. Didn't go to work till lunchtime today as had to take son to to the docs. Rather stressful few last days really. Must get some early nights in. Dd needs phone credit tomorrow £10 and son needs taxi money when he gets home. Honestly they think money grows on trees!!! :D
Must update sig as overdraft going up! Will be going up more tomorrow! Don't think I'll be paying as much as I want to on my credit card at this rate. Roll on next months payday!
