Oh dear popped into the local garage. It's a costcutter and always has offers on. So spent £8 odd!! Taken I might add from the atm. they have outside, And not a meal amongst it...pepsi, crisp, biscuits, cranberry juices, chocolate for children (well DD came and added to this) tv mag. Yep all absolute rubbish...so will make sure that for tea tomorrow it'll be something we've got in or I will buy stuff with the change I have in my purse (as a punishment)
I can see my overdraft creeping up again if I'm not careful.

the thing is just because you've had one bad day means you'll try extra hard for the next few days - so that's good in the end!!

The sun is shining and so I thought I'd take a break from hectic sun bathing and up date my diary....amazing what goes through my mind when I'm relaxing.
Well I'm still doing pretty well and trying to keep the overdraft down. I'm doing much better than I was this time last month, though to be fair I had son's birthday. Really begrudge spending money now. Had to get a couple of things from Boots so used my advantage card. After all why have money on that when I'm paying interest on an overdraft! I've realised I'm paying nearly £30 a month for the pleasure of my account...interest, overdraft protection and acount fee. It does give me some accidental life insurance but we've got that anyway?? The interest will come down but I think I might get rid of the overdraft protection for what the overdraft is. I'm sure my cards are covered anyway with yearly protection. Must check that. Then I will go back to a basic no charge account, I'm sure the one I had originally had no monthly fee?? Anyway hope everyone else is ok.

    Hi dizzie

Glad to hear you got some sunbathing in!

Definitely check out what benefits you are getting for that account fee. You can probably ditch it without losing anything. Sometimes you get a lower rate of interest on your overdraft so if that's the case do the sums and work out if it's worth keeping.

Every time I see your signature I get a twinge of jealousy - just four more loan payments! Just think how much easier life is going to get for you this autumn!

Hiya Seaxwyn...hope you're okay. Yeh I'm definately going to look into my account now. That money could be paying off my more card quicker. I am lucky I know having only 4 more payments. It's been a bit tough but at least it won't be hanging over my head. I'm also thinking about cutting out my friday afternoons at work. It'll be a bit less money but I'd really like to do some voluntary work preferably at a dogs home or similar. I've been at the same school now for 7 years. I'm a teaching assistant in the morning and a qualified special needs assistant in the afternoon and unfortunately there aren't that many of us at the moment in our school so not sure how that will go down. Our head is fairly easy going and supportive so hopefully she'll understand.
Well another gorgeous day...hope you're making the most of it. I think we spend less money in the summer because it's just nice to laze around in the garden. with a couple of these...:D
Take care and thanks for 'checking' in. x

Hiya Diz, glad all is going well for you. You certainly seem to be much more positive with things now. Let's hope it lasts for another couple of months until the loan is paid off. You won't know yourself when you get rid of that, you'll be so much better off.

Keep up the good work hun, your getting there x

    Hey GirlRacer how are you?
Thanks for the support. I do feel more positive, like you say, hope it lasts. (fingers crossed). I have to say reading the replies I get here does so much to keep me in focus. I think Martin Lewis should definately be given a knighthood as well. What do you think?
    Hope you're okidoki hun x

Martin should definitely get a knighthood, thanks to him and the guys on here I've managed to reclaim enough bank chanrges to pay off nearly all my debt!!!

I'm okidoki (thanks for asking) been enjoying the sunshine. The weekend has been fabulous and I've caught a few rays which makes me look more human again. During Winter I look like Casper the ghost.....

Is it today your going to spead to the Headteacher about reducing your hours? If it is, good luck, hope you get the answer you want.

    Catch you later x

Oh I know what you mean GirlRacer If I'm a bit pale I always get asked if I'm ill!!
I love a bit of glow to my skin :D
Well I popped in the bank and cancelled my overdraft protection and went on to a basic account. The interest will be at a bit higher but can't be as much as I'm paying now for the priviledge. She agreed it's not worth having the gold account if I'm not using the advantages on it. So hopefully I'll be around £20 a month better off. And it's an added incentive to get my overdraft down :D
We got our forms today from school were we put about changing our classes/roles etc so I'm going to add less hours onto this and see what happens. Went in this morning and the class teacher was off and school couldn't get any supply in, so took the class and had to think on my feet. Lesson plan was with the teacher who was off! I do ppa anyway for year 1 and I love it. So today we did literacy before break. They had art week last week so I linked it in with this. They had to imagine they were an artist. Changed their name, age, nationality etc. What they enjoyed drawing, if they'd sold any and who too and how much. They loved it and wrote some great pieces. Then for numeracy we linked the literacy to drawing what they'd wrote about but had to do it in symmetry. Wow they were fabulous. And only year 2. I just love my job I guess. And the holidays are of course a bonus :D
Hope everyone is okay and still enjoying the weather. It really cheers me up when it's sunny.

So I've just scraped my ruddy car. We have a drive with a electric metal shutter. The neighbours back to back are having work done on their garden. The workmen had left bins in the middle of the backstreets. So I tried to manouver around. He very kindly moved one when I asked but not enough so DD had to do it but because they've got sacks of cement there as well it's a bit tricky. Anyway went in at a funny angle and scraped the wheel arch. Not had the car that long either!!! Anyway told hubby but he's always calm about things and to be honest he'd scraped our last car going up the drive when there weren't even any obstacles there so now we're even. I'm just so mad because I have never done anything like it and been driving for donkeys years!!!
Ah well it's not life and death I suppose and maybe a lick of paint should cover it up although it's gone a bit deeper than the surface. I'd swear but what's the point.
Vent over time for a coffee...:coffee:...Ah that's a bit better...tastes so much better with a drop of Tia Maria :D
