With regard to the new speed for NTL, I was on the 1.5 Megabit package which was fine for my needs. 3Mb is great but I don't need the speed and am considering downgrading to the 2Mb package (which is still faster than I was on 2 weeks ago) and saving over £10 per month. Has anyone done this? Are NTL agreeable?

This is exactly what I intend to do, but you have to wait 30 days from upgrade before you change. If you send large files eg photo's etc you should be aware that by downgrading to 2mb your new upload speed will be 200kbps which is 56kbps less than ADSL

so what is the current monthly usage allowance for people with 300k? i know it would be 3gb a month when and if i upgrade.

ive heard that its not actually as good as it sounds to upgrade due to the monthly allowance.

You are currently on 1GB a day, so it's quite a difference. But it's questionable whether it will still be competitive to impose that cap in 6 months time when they are supposed to be starting to enforce it.

Hey, im on a student package with NTL, that means that its only 9 months long, and am on the 300K package. The limit of 3Gb a month is pathetic and i just want to clarify if it really is unmonitored until september, because the contract ends in june/july. Does anyone know for certain that the downloads are definitely unmonitored till Sept? And i will prob phone NTL sometime soon to check this as well. Thanks
