    From cableforum.co.uk

    "Once customers have upgraded to the new speeds, they will be unable to change back to the old speeds. Existing customers on 300K, 750K and 1.5MB cannot move between old speeds."

    Sorry :(

    actually it must hav all been in my mind - just tested am still just under 700
    I would expect you to be at least over 700 as your original speed should be near 750. Are you sure nothing was interfering with the test, such as other programs downloading/email sending/receiving etc. Make sure all your other apps are shutdown... also maybe try a different test site for a second opinion?

    What does it say your upload speed is?

    If you're sure you haven't been upgraded, try rebooting your modem (power modem off for 30 seconds then power back on) - might force the update to be applied.

    I was 700 and self-upgraded to 2Mb with no problems. Perhaps you are in a part of the country where the network needs to be upgraded before you can get 2Mb? Have you tried customer services and told them you have been upgraded to 2Mb but are still getting only 750Kb? Try posting on cableforum.co.uk's forums, they might be able to help.

    Hehe don't blame you! :D Mind you I have been pleasantly surprised how quick I was answered when phoning up recently, maybe just a freak occurrance, or perhaps cunningly they made their service so bad to begin with that, when they get just a bit better, everyone gets happy?! :rolleyes:

    @sunflower

    Have you got a stand alone modem or do you plug into the set top box???If you plug into the STBox is it a Pace one??If it is you will have to make that call as the Pace box's will only go to 1Mb so they will Not upgrade.I'm on 750 and rang them yesterday to find out why it wouldnt upgrade and was told becauase its a Pace STBox.So they have ordered me a Samsung STBox but it is going to take 3 weeks..........:confused:

    But 2MB instead of 750kb has got to be good for no extra charge and for all the people worrying about CAPPING.......This has been quoted by Ntl "This will not be monitored til latter in the year and customers will be informed when this comes in. Options supplied to those exceeding limits. "We will continue to run campaigns with heavy users".
