Yes, although if upload speed bothers you, it is now 200k on the 2MB service and 300k on the 3MB service.
I think NTL have shot themselves in the foot with this one, as I can't think why anybody would pay the substantial extra amount for the faster service.0 -

My speeds now 3meg but I'm paying 13 quid more for it than those on 2meg
Can I downgrade and still get better speeds than I was on and save myself a packet?
You'll only be able to do this if you have already had 12 months at the 1.5 meg service. As long as you have fulfilled this requirement, you should only have to call NTL and advise them that you now wish to downgrade. Don't listen to the patter from the other end if they try to put you off. Hi I have just rung NTL to ask for an upgrade to 1MB and they said they will still need to replace PACE set top box for a new one (next week - must be on the ball in Norwich !) We don`t mind a nice shiny new box to replace nasty black one for free.0

Rang this morning to be told that they now replacing all set-top boxes. I want to go from 300k to 1M but was told that even though the Pace ST box could handle 1M they wanted to replace it for a Samsung. Was a bit concerned but since she was able give an appointment for next Tuesday (i.e. the next working day) and my set top box remote is faulty and needs replacing, I cannot really complain (yet)0

Just used the NTL page mentioned by OP to upgrade my modem. I was on the 750k service, which has now become the 2Mb service, Ran a speed test on two different sites, and speeds came back at 1.1Mb on one site, and 1.6Mb on the other. Even with factoring in the overheads, they're not quite top of the pile, but since it's 'free', who am I to complain?I haven't been asked to tell you that I'm the Board Drunk for this board. all the upgrades are as said however the 300k service will not be upgraded automatically it has been left for the customer to take advantage of this service. so if you dont want it, dont upgrade its that simple.
as for the other 2 services if you use a modem your fine go get the upgrade.
however if you use the set top box and it is the grey pace box it wont work and you will have to contact ntl on 08000522000, if youve got the silver samsung box again go ahead and get the upgrade.
no minimum term is required as all customers will be upgraded by the summer0 -

But you SHOULD compain. If they are offering 2Mb for free then that's what you should be getting - free or not!criminal_smile wrote:Just used the NTL page mentioned by OP to upgrade my modem.
