Thanks JJJT and PMer for advice - all much appreciated and passed on.

Mr B was busy yesterday fixing the kettle handle so it didn't flop around and the back door so it didn't require an arm wrestle to fix it - you wouldn't believe how many times I've pushed and shoved the back door to shut it, only to have it fly out of my hands and bang shut! Not to mention gingerly picking up the kettle, only to have to remind myself that it is now SAFE! I may have been waiting just a long time for those jobs to be done. As for the mixer ................ that was only broken for one day, and I was already suffering serious and severe withdrawal symptoms!

Written "my" listy for today - depends on dry weather and co-operation of Mr B, so here's keeping my fingers crossed - meanwhile, coffee then off to do an HHI around 8.30 am whilst decluttering a recording or two - don't supposed anyone's interested?

    thanks everyone.

ive called the highest up person i know of that ive had dealings with before and is about as useful as the rest of the lot (chocolate teapot springs to mind. i dont like tea.) just so angry about it all. maybe i do go in there with a few guns blazing (not them all mind) but after 2.5 years of fighting you learn that being all nicey nicey doesnt work so you cut the bull and go straight for the jugular.

the guy tried to blame the truck driver who was delivering a palet of bricks for my wall for making the drive collapse. totally ignoring the fact that i had someone out twice to photograph the drive in the previous months as it already was collapsing but whenever the pics were emailed to him they got lost in the internal email system. hmmmmm.

one of my wisdom teeth is causing me alot of pain. there isnt enough room in my mouth for it and every few months is tries to push its way up meaning owieness. i couldnt chew properly last night as my gum swelled up which made eating tea very interesting lol. i went to bed just before 9, read a chapter of my book and drifted in and out of it all night. was up at half 2 for some strong painkillers which seem to have done the trick. im still sore but the swelling has reduced i was able to eat my HM bread this morning!

i got my new freezer ordered so im away to type up the list of all the food i lost when it went bang to emil to the insurance. even though the freezer isnt covered since they decided they no longer insure mechanical breakdowns a couple months ago the contents is but rather than send someone out the or get me to email a pic of the busted freezer they want a receipt for a new one proving that is actually broken.

i was very MSE and went to the store, looked and decided what one i wanted then spent hours online looking for one cheaper, and found the frost free version for cheaper than the normal version but as its a brand new model its not instock so ill have to wait about 10-14 days for delivery.

flying-wise today i need to do a dark load, and hoover the living room. tweety feathery thing needs cleaned too and i need to have a look for a new heater and filter for my fishtank im resurecting in time for xmas.

    have a good day everyone!

    Morning All

Adamantine-sorry for all the trouble you are having but good find on freezer.

Out this morning but hoping to get some more bits done of the list. Feel much better for doing it and trying to get my children to keep it tidy (not sure if that will ever happen but they are trying). Really want to get some boxes out of the loft so I can start sorting them out. Need to ask BF kindly if they will get them down as I don't do lofts!

Monday ~ Living room, Hall and Stairs
binbag dance.. get some decluttering done!

Tuesday ~ Kitchen and Dining room!
    Binbag dance

Wednesday ~ Master bedroom and landing
Sort through a box of general junk that is lurking

Friday ~ The Birdie Song... (a ittle bit of this.. and a little bit of that..)
    Level Two
Empty and clean out a cupboard.. fling the stuff you don't need and put back neatly the stuff you do!
    Extras
Wash any windows you have left and can now no longer see out of! (that would be all of mine!)
    binbag dance
Wash the sticky paintwork in one room

    Frogs
    bring some boxes from loft
    fix curtain in DD room
put curtain pole up in main bedroom
cuddle kids (always like to have a nice frog to eat)
phone up about sorting out gas!
    Phone up about mediation

adamantine maybe if you have exhausted your local MP then this

    http://www.lgo.org.uk/

    is the way forward.

Sounds as if you are organised enough to have photo records and so on to back up everything, so that should help.

Adamantine put all the issues down in writing and begin making a formal complaint to the council. these sort of places are like schools and dont like complaints or bad results etc

be firm but polite in your letter and obvs keep copies of everything
sit down take care and draft it carefully
if all else fails solicitor perhaps on legal aid maybe? unsure on this but defo look at making a complaint

in the meantime, need to list on ebay this weekend
need to s/s kitchen bathroom and toilet
    tidy living room
    hoover master bedroom
    hall stairs and landing
    wm x 2
    move cabinet into bathroom
organise tea for today and tomorrow when we are out all day
    get clothes ready for tomorrow

hugs to all who need them

Well DH has gone food shoping with strict instructions not to buy beer, wine, or anything that we don't need. I can see him rolling his eyes while I run through what we are going to eat this week, but by keeping close control on the spend, we shaved almost £200 off the shopping bill last month.:) But he makes me feel terrible for telling him what not to buy. He retort this week was "we don't have any cheap wine left " My answer was - well if we want a bottle tonight then we can drink one of the 30+ nicer bottles that are cluttering up the place & we're going nowhere that requires wine until after our holiday. I got a hmmmppffh for that :(

I have hoovered & mopped all the hard floors in the house.
Folded the washing in the TD
Loaded the WM with the bedding
Kitchen surfaces and cupboards are clean
Living room is tidy, dusted and clean
Master Bedroom is tidy, floordrobe put away, dusting done.

Gonna have some breakfast, clear out the fridge, have a shower, then tackle the bathrooms

  • cats demanding i get up and feed him. well it is 1.5 hours past breakfast time for him, poor baby lol.

other than that going to have a very lazy day just pottering. going to do my mamouth pile of filing and get the washing dried as im fed up with the house looking like a chinese laundry. tumble dryer is now firmly on my shopping list so just need to wait till DH is home or my parents are down and can install it for me.

On the DH home situation ive still not heard anything and its starting to annoy me as i have no idea if he is coming home early or not so dont know if i need to plan a grocery shop or what.
