Hugs ((((((((((((((((())))))))))))))
ive been fighting with the council to get my house up to a decent standard since i moved in 2.5 years ago. today i was berrated for "ranting" at the housing manager who decided to tell me i agreed to something i hadnt, accused me of being a liar and also had a go at me for being on benefits. oh and then he broke data protection by trying to discuss my situation with someone who rang up to offer a quote on the work that needs done on my property.
i refuse to appologise for having high standards and the fact i was "ranting" at him was because ive had to fight with them over every single tiny repair ive needed done and im sick fed up of it. they are not even replying to my MP who i have had to involve regarding asbestos in my garage!
its not too much to expect to have a safe home in a good state of repair? i have high standards but im not expecting 18ct gold plated fixtures and fittings but walls that do not resemble the rocky mountains, floors that done slope down by 3 inches from one side of my wardrobe to the other and a driveway that isnt collapsing!!
a house is meant to be a home. a sanctury. i wish that i hadnt left my ex and just put up with everything coz at least i wouldnt be living like this. wish i never moved back here.0 -

I know this isn't really "Flying" but you're the most helpful bunch I know.
Anyone know the drill for finding out what on earth is going on with the medical care of someone in hospital? Briefly, elderly person in hospital, never "awake/conscious" when family visit, relations can't find out what is going on as all staff they speak to say something different, and contradict each other - including that this person IS conscious sometimes. Other issues mean there is likely to be a complaint anyway, (now has MRSA!) but the most important thing now is to find out what is wrong, what is being done, what choices there are, etc. Anyone know what the process is?
Back to the problems of my Flyladies .....

Lame Wolf - my Mr Dog has his snarly teeth out and is saying that nasty BDs should not be allowed to upset you - you are too lovely a person
Natty68 - coincidence or what - I was staying about two miles from the Riverford Shop last week - we basically called in every single day for one thing or another, and I may have bought rather a lot of cheese there on the day we travelled back.Currently wondering whether to try one of their veg boxes .........
General low level flying going on here - just managed to finish my Friweeklies - all beds, towels, dog stuff changed for the week - oh, better go off and change the kitchen cloths before I forget.Work is not my Hobby0 -
Bless you adamantine :A What a great big shower of shi*te. You sound like you are feeling the same as I was feeling yesterday. The worst thing is you try do do your best for yourself and your family but every now & again everything and everyone seem to conspire against you and throw all sorts of rubbish at you. And it's even harder to take when you know you are doing everything right, nothing illegal, all above board and in the best interests of your family.
I think there must be something in the air this week as I've heard of so many people (on here and elsewhere) who are having huge struggles in making headway in things that should not be made so difficult.
LW gave me a great saying last month: "illegitimis non carborundum" - roughly translated as "don't let the barstewards get you down". If nothing else it reminds you that the people who are getting you down are barstewards and not worthy of your time and energy (and, as per Mr LW, probably have small willies - not sure of a female equivalent??? )
Anyway, eat that chocolate, drink that wine, have that hot bath. You can look at yourself in the mirror and know you are a good person doing good things and at the end of the day that's what counts.
Love from Counsellor Bumpkins:D

Contact the PALS service in the hospital and get them to help.
And YES, do get a Riverford box if you can stretch to it. The next best thing to home grown, IMO, and it keeps a lot longer than sweaty old supermarket veg.
Adamantine, councils are like that. Escalate above the housing officer's head. And make sure this includes his discussing your personal circumstances with someone else and judgements about people on benefits. Find out the precise details of your repair responsibilities and their responsibilities, the Fit Homes Standard, the state they claim every home will be in at letting and keep at them.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -

Good evening
Busy work day again today. i managed to wash up, S&S the kitchen & put the DW on before the school run this morning.
I had a houseful again this afternoon - although I was only being paid for 2 of them! I had invited a friend round for a cuppa after school (school finishes at 1.30 on Fridays) with her daughter, to play with the 2 kids i had. She then realised that her son didn't have school (inset day). Then I agreed to my childminder friend comoing round as she wanted help with her paperwork (has her Ofsted inspection soon). She had 3 with her. Then her OH turned up!! Eventually they all went home (I took friend & her 2 kids home as it was raining). It looked like a bomb had hit the place!!
When i got back my mum was hereI haven't seen her for a few weeks, so that was nice.
When I finished work, I tidied up, wiped the sofas & hoovered downstairs. DH got in soon after and commented on how tidy it looked
DH & I took the dog for a walk, then ordered pizza for tea.
Tomorrow I need to get some bits in town, and do some studying
DD1 is coming home for the night with the BF. Luckily DH will be working as he doesn't approve (BF has mucked DD1 about a lot this year). As usual, I am piggy in the middle
Ok. i think i may go to bed soon.
(((big hugs))) to Adamantine, and some sticks for Wendywitch's BD.0 -
Well, I have been MIA for most of the week due to a combination of feeling a bit bleugh and being busy with kids/school/work.
Anyway, here’s what I have left to do this weekend. Thing 1 has just gone off on an orienteering training trip so his friends dad collected him at 6.45! :eek:As I am up early, I have already hoovered and mopped the kitchen floor, put away most of the carp that has accumulated on the drainer, sorted through the kids pointless school & clubs letters (I swear they must cause at least 1 tree a day to be felled:mad:) and am now having a cuppa while the floor dries.
DH got up to help with the packed lunch and has decided that he needed to go back to bed  – he’s very lucky as I almost stripped it while he was making sarnies!
