i dont really know if ive over reacted, maybe i have but don't know whether to text my friend or not. basically she is pregnant and text asking me and my son to come to a party at her bf's house, she would pick us up so i could have a drink and didnt have to drive
the party was about 6 miles away.
so everything is good, party is good then after the bells, she and her bf start fighting upstairs and a few people went up to calm him down.
he ended up punching me in the face, (not too hard but hard enough,) wouldnt apologise because he said it was 'only Michelle'
and then my friend wouldnt take me and my son home because she said she hadn't said she would and wasn't 'running around after us.'
i said 'well how were you expecting us to get home on new years eve, '
if id known that i wouldnt have had a drink, i would just have driven myself as im not a big drinker.
So me and my son left and waited for a taxi for over an hour in the cold and started to walk home. we got about 2 miles before a taxi stopped on the way to a city and felt sorry for us lol.Save £300 in Jan £515/£300-Lose 10 lbs in Jan- 8/10,Cap One M/C £0/£200,Cap One Visa £0/£200

i know, im under that impresion too but i dont really have a lot of friends, she's someone i was friends with at school and have not long got in touch with just before my brother died.
i know the bf only did it cos he was swinging about and caught me, he caught a few other people too but i dont know who im more annoyed about.
I just feel !!!!ed off that she would let me and my son start walking (along a dark farm road, only way out the town) and then made up like i was being prissy and she had never agreed to run me home???Save £300 in Jan £515/£300-Lose 10 lbs in Jan- 8/10,Cap One M/C £0/£200,Cap One Visa £0/£200

Just because you dont have a lot of things you shouldnt put up with things like that
To let you walk home is awful. Even more so when she offered! x 0 -

I am not sure why you apologised? How were you in the wrong? You really do not need 'friends' like that!
Take care x0 -
i know you're right Dawn W, I don't need friends like that but still, I hate losing people
All she said is that she wasn't being a taxi at 3am because she was pregnant

Hi, I had to come out of lurkdom to stand up and say what a rubbish start to the New Year, there's no way you deserve to be treated like that and it may be once the alcohol's out of their systems and they've had some time to calm down, they will be very embarrassed. They ought to be. Do they not realise you could have reported him to the police for assault? As for your friend refusing you the lift home... well maybe she was afraid of her b/f or something but that's no way to treat you.
Perhaps that was just the rubbish end to a rubbish year and things will be better from now on. Losing your brother, especially when you had no warning, is a terrible shock and it will take time for you to begin to hope and look forward to things again. In the meantime I can see you are putting building blocks in place for the future: 7lbs is a fantastic start in such a short time and you can be proud of yourself.
And the taxi that stopped - bless 'em! There are nice people around.
Hope it's okay if I subscribe and cheer you on?

thanks for your reply MIggy.
To be honest, Im not sure the scales are right. They are weightwatchers ones but it seems an awful lot to go in one time.
I had a violent marriage myself years ago, which im divorced from now, but last night brings that back and my friends bf is one of my ex's friends, so must be something in their circle. I have no idea, but my son knew nothing about his dad doing that to me and, could never understand why i don't really drink, but after last night, it's beginning to dawn on him.
I've had enough now, even after me texting to apologise and say my son was upset because of her bf punching me, she said my son couldn't have seen it as he was downstairs.
I feel like it's splitting hairs, I didn't mean to say he saw it, I meant he knew about it as he saw me upset after.
Im not sure why im bothering.
Anyway i go off topic as that's not really what this forum is about.
I have set up a standing order to have £60 per week paid into a savings account.
I have set up a budget of £123.90 per week, (disregarding my direct debits).
My budget is
£50 per week for petrol
£30 for food
£10 for gas /elec
£13.90 for my son's bus far
and £20 for entertainment.
If we don't spend this, for entertainment then it goes off a debt.
Any other money left, not in this budget or not in the £60 savings, also goes off a debt.
Hope you have had a non eventful start to the year Miggy xSave £300 in Jan £515/£300-Lose 10 lbs in Jan- 8/10,Cap One M/C £0/£200,Cap One Visa £0/£200
