If you wanna be somebody

....if you wanna go somewhere, You better wake up and pay attention.

HEY WHOOPI GOLDBERG SAID THAT

Therapy is apparently good for the soul but I can't imagine anything worse than sitting in a room Sopranos style confessing my darkest secrets to someone who is just thinking about how they're going to spend their hourly rate.

For this reason and in true money saving style, I am posting for free on here.
I've just turned 30 and hoping this turns my year around.
NOt to start off on a depressing note, I have had a very hard year due to bereavement which I am struggling to cope with and (in a bizarre way of having something to do) I have become obsessed with paying off debts and checking my credit report.

Bizarrely I have been checking it every few days which is a complete waste of £2.

What the hell am i doing?

I read these diaries, My favourite is MrB. Well done.
Like him, Im a chubber as well so maybe can roll (hahaha roll, you see what i did there) it all into one.

I wanna be thin, gorgeous, rich and attached to the love of my life.

However at the moment, the love of my life is my teenage son, which isnt so bad, he's the funniest person I've ever met, but im sick of seeing couples everywhere I look.

However I dont want to find anyone or even bother look for anyone while i feel so crap about myself and about money.

I have been reading these forums for months now but never posted so I know the basics, but always need some advice.

  • I think im going to start using this diary as therapy to myself, whether anyone reads them or not.

I have goals for the last day of January, in the spirit of actually being able to do them, I have broken them down.
I want to lose around 5 stone in 2012, so am aiming for 10 pounds in January and to save £300 by the 31st in a savings account.

Am going to try and update my signature, not sure how to do this yet

  • Thats what i do hadahard year!

I used to worry my diary was extremely self indulgent (and it is) but it's helping clear all the crazy/mental/good/bad/random thoughts and it helps writing it down (for me anyway)! :rotfl:

So who cares if anyone reads it! I also was aiming for £300 savings in Jan so will be checking in to see how you got on :D

Go to Quick LInks > Edit Signature to update your stats! x
  • thanks for your advice, I couldn't see how to do that at all.

I was thinking because I have so much weight to lose, it's better to break it down.
I also have some debt,(obviously or why else would I be here?) haha. BUt that is under control.

  • You have to break it down! Otherwise its just overwhelming!

I've even broke down all my hen weekends into individual pots to help with those savings aswell!
  • thats a good idea. I started doing that with savings accounts, ie MOT and road tax,

There's nothing in any of them though haha but its the thought that counts.

Hopefully this time next month, I will be well over those signatures

  • Daily update for today,
watching a bit of Chewing the Fat and watching while my son has a chippy, while i have none.

TRying my best to lose the weight here,
I have not spent a penny today apart from paying my phone bill but that was included in my budget so It's all good.

Flew home on empty as i didnt want to spend any on petrol. haha.
THat reminds me of the time I ran out of petrol and the police had to push my car along a dual carriageway.

Is there such a thing as too miserish?

  • hiya pal, What kind of goals do you have.

really aiming for this weight thing, I think money and weight are going hand in hand because of the budgeting for the food shopping, so it kind of forces me in to food planning
