Darkrev-- lovely picture! How happy you look! Best wishes for a long and happy marriage.

Tugrin-- our instant oatmeal is actually rolled oats that have been processed so that they cook up by just pouring boiling water over them. I usually just add tap water and bung it in the microwave for 90 seconds. They come in individual packets-- each 1 serving-- 10 to a box. They come in many flavors-- OH likes the "raisins and spice" which contains sugar, cinnamon and raisins (sultanas). My fave is "cinnamon spice" which is just like OH's minus the raisins. Another one I like is maple and brown sugar flavor and the apple and cinnamon. They also have many fruit flavors such as: peaches and cream, banana bread, strawberries and cream, blueberries and cream. I hope this helps explain it. I'll make you some when you come to visit!

This sounds like Quaker Oats "Oat So Simple" 10 packets in the box, which I have every morning, you can have milk or water with it and cook for 2 minutes in the microwave. I usually have water with mine,I have flavours Honey and Almond and Golden Syrup at the moment but there are other flavours.

Also, for spider haters - Raid Red spray is really effective.

Good to know it works as it's an insecticide and spiders aren't...
I'm buying this on my next order.

As an aside, does anyone know if conkers really repel them cos if they do I'm out collecting right now! The wolf spiders are huge and run so fast in our house. We trap them under glasses to try to get ourselves used to them but no, we are still petrified!

yes i can confirm they are the same thing

rolled oats are often bought in cardboard cylinders in the states and make horrible oatmeal for breakfast, in fact it was so horrible i wouldn't touch the stuff til i came here and had proper porridge oats for porridge which i now love (but don't eat often it gives me heartburn)

rolled oats are good for baking though and i use my porridge oats for baking the same way i used rolled oats in the states, my daughter is lucky she can also have it as porridge without the pain :p

One thing I have remembered from the last 2 winters is how difficult it was to see at night when I wasdriving home from work - the lights from the oncoming cars seem to blur and refract in my windshield no matter what I clean it with AND its a new windshield. Is there anything I can reliably use - either cleaner or screen or something to stop me driving like a VERY old lady at 25 mph and annoying all the other road users????
