    Wow!
We still have our back door open all day as its too hot not to!
22 degrees when I went to bed last night!!
I guess I will also feel warmer this year, which will hopefully save some money on fuel until bubs comes and we need it on more.

I do wish it would cool down a bit here!

Last night was the first night I used the duvet in about 3 weeks!

I actually hate mild weather though bring on winter for me!

We have used quite a lot of our gas camping this year, so I have replenished supplies. That is our alternative cooking source sorted if we have power cuts.
Now have new slippers and a food flask for work. The microwave takes ages at work and there is always a queue. Decided it would be quicker to warm up my soup at home and then I don't spend my lunch break standing in the queue.

Another one in Yorkshire, I put a jumper on last night for the first time in ages definately cooler.

  • my latest discovery on winter prep is to leave the boiler cupboard door open as much as poss....really warms up the whole room....for free!

Must say, the one thing I really miss since my landlord put in a new combi boiler is the fact that I don't have a cylinder now. I always had the hot water on 24hrs and it was great during the winter, even though it was lagged, there was always heat kicking out, but I never actually noticed until it was gone :(
A smile costs little but creates much :)

Can I ask if anyone has seen any extra deep flannelette sheets anywhere??? It's what comes of letting DH buy a mattress, he didn't realise at the time that an extra deep one meant having to buy new sheets!!!
    Thanks!!

I read that this year will be very cold and very windy and exceptionally snowy!

I know I am a bit late but I finally have some energy back now I am taking some extra iron and have spent the weekend sorting out some of my winter stuff from last year and have realised I do have a list of things I need :S

One thing, I don't know how it happened but I only have 1 fleece blanket :-O We usually keep 4 to snuggle on the sofa with so I need to get a couple more, has anyone seen any cheap lately? (I like them big!)

Also a big plastic flask for tea/hot chocolate?

What salt do I need for the drive way?

And where can I buy a wind up torch?

    TIA

I got some lovely thick fleece blankets in Aldi last year. I will let you know if they get them back in they are about £8 but well worth the money. Mine still look brand new and I have washed them lots.
You need rock salt for the drive, but poundland did a product called ice clear last year that was really good....In fact I think that I still have some in the shed along with lots of de-icer and coolant that I bought in the Feb/March sale
Wilkinsons have some big flasks, but I wouldn't get a food flask they really are not that good, just get a normal one at the size you want, they also have wind up torches from £3.59 upwards, check out their camping sale.http://www.wilkinsonplus.com/search?q=camping
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Got some radiator foil today, and coincidentally the temp has definitely dropped, i'm wearing a cardigan for the first time in months. I still need to sort out some curtains. Was hoping that DH would have got a job before I had to get them, but perhaps not. : (

Let us know what you think of it P would you? I've got my eye on it but don't know whether to make the leap and buy it.
