I like the sound of those mattress toppers! Please can someone post asap when they arrive in shops as I will get the 3 of us one each :)

They are so lovley!!! These are quite similar in price:http://www.dunelm-mill.com/shop/good-nights-all-seasons-plush-reversible-mattress-enhancer-45194, but not sure what they feel like.

I thin I paid £24.99 for a double topper last winter. Well worth getting & they're machine washable.

I'll post when I see then - which will be pretty soon I think cos the winter goods are coming into stores x

I love this thread! It makes me want it to be winter now so I can be all snuggly and warm :-)

Just bought some lovely waterproofed leather, fleece lined boots for the winter - I cannot wait to wear them! Although judging by the weather here at the moment, tomorrow would do.

lucy_lemon I thought the same thing the other day! Although to be honest we have literally had about 10 sunny days so far this Summer and the rest has been cold, overcast or rainy, so pretty wintery anyway!

Yes, we're the same here! I'm so fed up of my feet getting soaked on the way to work :( Maybe the winter will be cold but sunny though, which would be amazing!

Thanks pips mum, they are colourful. I won't be buying them as knitted my own yonks ago but still nice and cheerful for kiddies.

Nice to meet you over on the toughies thread ( make do and mend as its called now).

Today it was warm but never stopped raining - I was digging up potatoes wearing wellies but in short sleeves as to hot for a coat, boy did I get strange looks as potatoes are being grown in my side garden which is open to the world ( have hedges in now but will not be big enough to hide me for a few years yet).

We have had a few sunny days but every time sun has come out so has a cold wind so although it got hot you couldn't feel it and had to wear a jacket, then if you went somewhere out of the wind you boiled grrrrrrrrr

OK so why oh why did I not think of knitting my own! I have limited knitting skills (as you will know from the other thread!) but surely could manage to cobble together something, especially since my target audience is only 3.5!:rotfl::rotfl:

Was going to place an order from there for a few bits from my money I have stashed for :santa2: :xmastree:presents but the postage just stuck in my throat too much!

Yes they are simple to knit and can be made out of scraps of yarn and so end up colourful like the one on sale. Just don't use pure wool as it might over time felt which will stop the heat getting through.

Your 3.5 year old will love it all the more if mummy made it - if you don't feel you can knit it quickly, don't tell them till you are basically finished then you can say how you are making this for them then they can see you knitting it then finishing it, even better than giving it to them for the big C I think.

I've got plenty of different coloured wool from previous little projects so no worries there, knitting speed may be the issue :D but I guess within a few more weeks of pregnancy I will get to whale stage were I will want to do little else than sit down so knitting may be the entertainment of choice! :rotfl::rotfl:

Oh and just remembered to share that our water went off tonight for a few hours due to burst water pipe miles away, all those that laugh at my bottled "just in case" water were not laughing so hard now!
