I managed to get the back door and front door mats washed and dried today. I will wash them again before winter sets in. Next job for next week is sorting the scrafes for washing.Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money

in the end we weren't prepared to put up with the noise in the bedroom so we just left the wooly blankets attached to the curtains but removed the space blankets
now in the living room, hall, kitchen, around doors etc it would be fine as you wouldn't be hearing them crinkle much (sadly the only place for our beds is by the windows!) or if you don't have to have your bed by the window then that would work too
if i did it again i'd use some tape folded over the edges then pin them through the tape to the curtains, less likely to tear that way
Thanks for that confuzzled. I'd only use them at the front and back doors so the noise shouldn't be a problem. I'll be trying your idea of taping the tops and pinning them to the curtains so thanks for that too.... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

hello everyone
I don't think I have posted here before but I pop in for a read now & then. I am usually a girl who likes to be prepared but you lot put me to shame:D.
the reason I am posting is I thought of this thread while browsing the Halfcost website & came across this-
https://www.halfcost.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10001&storeId=11&productId=80043&langId=-1&cache_entry=-1
there are no reviews & i have not seen them before so have no idea if they work. the website usually sells things that have been in the Kleeneeze catalogue so it's possible they have been sold through there in the past.
I have used the website a few times & have always been happy with the products & service. At the moment it is free p&p when you spend over £10 (ends 22nd July).
there is also a code for 5% off, it seems to have been working for years, I will bump the thread on the codes board as I don't think I am allowed to post it here.
PinkTiger or anyone else who has bought them could you please update us as to what they are like when you get them. Look like they could be ideal for DD's long windows. Thanks:)0 -
I bought them Abwsco and am waiting on them arriving. As soon as they do I'll post a review here.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0

I'm just waiting for Dunelm to re-stock the Teddy Bear feel mattress toppers. I bought a double one last winter & it was bliss! Then for the summer you turn it over for the cooler cotton top yet still get the comfort.
Need 2 singles for the kids & a double for DD's bed.
Bought myself a new mattress today - memory foam & it was the cheapest in the shop at £319 (800 spring)! Since when did they become so darn expensive!!!??? So I think I'll buy a cosy teddy matress topper to go with it even though its lovely & comfy - I like the warmth!0 -

Thank you:) Shown them to DD but she's worried about it looking like they've tin foil up at the windows for anyone walking past:o0 -

wasin primark today and they had the fleece pjs in adults and kids - they had cream fleece throws for £2.50 and the packs of 2 fluffy socks for £2 or £1.50 for 1 pair of knee high fluffy socks. Mens pj fleece bottoms were in too but don't know dh would feel about these! There candles were expensive for what they were so didn't bother with them! They also had (not mentioning the c word at all) stocking filler size jigsaws for 75p and loads of little stuff I didn't get a chance to look at - hth someoneLiving the simple life0
