Thanks for all the heads up on the winter bargains today, really appreciate it.0

Confuzzled - I think I love you
I just got 2 ski jackets (not that we go skiing!) for the DDs at the massive bargain of 11.99 each plus £3.99 delivery. So a total of £27.97 - I usually pay this per jacket for the girls and I suspect (hope) these will be warmer than what I usually buy
Wasn't sure about sizes though as DD2 aged 6 usually wears size 7/8 and by winter will prob have grown again so I got her the 8-9
(should have had a better look thru, can I add to my order or is it too late?)0 -
I need a new winter coat. It needs a hood, and to be warm but showerproof. And I want it to be mid-thigh length. And preferably in the sale, lol. I have a bit of a walk to work and also need to be able to manage two toddlers and their bags, hence the hood as I won't have hand room for a brolly...Bossymoo
Away with the fairies :beer:0 -
Thanks chaps!
Going to get another onesie (all in one fleecy babygro) from Primark this year. My Mummy bought one for me last year for my birthday as she knows I'll look like the Michelin Man before turning the heating up, and I popped in the drawer for ages until I gave it a go. And then I was in love! I had no idea there was a whole new level of cosy!
My friend says the ones with feet get too warm - mine doesn't have them.0 -
I have been threatened with divorce if I get a onesie.. but I don't care
My sister is getting me a footless one for my birthday in Sept. I won't sleep in it but it will be my TV/crochet/knitting staple and night snuggled sat by candle light, bring it on!

Maybe that's where I'm going wrong in the hunt for a new man :rotfl:0 -
I've just re-waterproofed my coat
There I was thinking I was going to have to get a new one, or spend ages choking as I used one of those spray can versions, when I happened to spot a "wash in" waterproofer on the counter in an outdoor pursuits place when I bought DD a new coat (I wanted a good quality 3-in-1 that she could use for school in September as well
I did get it in the sales about £30 off
). Yes I know I succumb to the temptation of counter 'extras' but <£3 for something so convenient is much cheaper than £100 on a new coat
It was this one here so I'm happy! If its worked well, I'll be going back for more next time I have £10 or so free to buy some in bulk
Also bought my DD new hat, scarf and mittens set for when she comes out to work with me, reduced in a sale. I like to have 2 complete sets each in case we get soaked or something. So she has a very smart looking black one my sister got DD for Xmas (which she loves) and now a bright red one with pompoms on
Summer holidays start next Tuesday so, DD's leg/mood depending, I think we'll have a sort out of what we have later next week so I can see if we need to buy anything this year except grocery stuffCreeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Off to lay in an extra stock of food ready for winter thanks to the appalling weather we are having now. I can bear lower heating if I have plenty of "stodge" to bulk out food! Will be buying mainly flour, pasta, sugar and tinned veggies (normally a no-no in our house) as these are the kind of stuff rotting in the fields according to the news yesterday.0
