Disaster here - 1/5th of my heating has died - the De Longhi Bambino radiator I splashed out on last year (Argos £40 ish quid) has just given up the ghost - the 2 cheapies I got from the Range the previous year are still pumping out the heat. Honestly why did I bother? I thought buying a "good" make would be SOME indication that the thing would last a while.......idiot that I am. And yes I know it isnt worth taking it to get repaired because it will cost more than a replacement heater - oh how I hate consumerism!

Can the Vitamin D experts tell me why my Boots capsules say 12.5 ug (the u is a funny symbol type u as well)- is this another way of measuring dosage?

Take the heater back!!!! Even if you don't have a receipt. They should replace it for you anyway.

Yes the u sign is another measure... no idea how it translates to iu tho! My caplets are 1000iu - I just checked.

Sorry I haven't been on here for a while, hope that everyone is well?
Your post rang a BIG bell with me Judi after OH proudly displaying the de-icer he paid £1.49 for at the local garage last night as he thought that 'We'd better be prepared' I've got 4 de-icers stashed away which I paid 99p each for! I know that it's not a lot, but you feel like you are knocking your head against a very big brick wall!:( Never mind, every little bit we do helps... I keep telling myself!:)
i can beat your 4 cans @99p lol.. i have 10 @33p each when focus shut in the summer

I have a spray that has both measurements on.

    1000 iu = 25 ug.

    HTH :)

I've just started crocheting a coat for my dog. Our pets can really tuck at our heart strings can't they!

LOL, that they do - I was feeling really guilty that she must be feeling the cold ..... but I'm managing & I don't have a fur coat on!

    Hi everyone,
Good day to get laundry done with all this wind eh?

Far too windy here - I did notice a neighbour had put theirs out .... 1/2 of it was on the ground and will need rewashed (silly woman).

Still horrendously windy here - hope it calms down soon.

Managed to do a couple of wee jobs today:

    • Split huge bag of builders sand into 3 bags, tied and put into bag for life ones so I can easily lift in/out the car (helps add weight in wind / ice / snow). The big bag was hard to lift in/out as it was so heavy & don't want to leave in all the time due to increased fuel consumption
    • Put spare wellies into car
    • Put travel pillow into car (you never know!)
    • Put waterproof trousers into car

    Need to do (car):
    • Find old sleeping bag to put into car ..... (where did I put it in Spring!)
    • Buy some snacks for car - don't really want to put them in before the weather turns or I'll eat them:o but if I wait, I may be too late!
