My dog will remove her toys from her basket until she finds what she is looking for, and then carefully put the rest of the toys back in the basket.

Never did get DH or kids to do anything similar. I wonder if I can train her to put the lights off after DH has ambled through the house :rotfl:

P.S. We didn't train the dog, we're rubbish. She was 2 when we got her.

Where did you get her? Perhaps they should offer a training programme for men!:rotfl::rotfl:
  • Thanks PigPen, I've just looked them up on amazon, and they are still around, thought I'd seen something like it. Not seen any very cheap ones yet (on internet anyway).
    Will keep on looking.

    Hi everyone
I've been busy trying to seal up all the cracks, and draughts in our Victorian house. Have two big ish problems left - our front bedroom windows are original sash and really draughty. Shall I use that film on them and can I buy it locally from DIY shops or is it an internet thing?

I've used some 'double glazing film' from Wilkinson on our windows. It's not noticeable until you're up close and has helped reduce the condensation already. A fine layer collects on the bottom of the film but not on the window. It was about 12 pounds a packet which is supposed to cover 8m squared. Seems quite robust and comes with strong double sided tape.
  • Wilkinsons do those letter box draught excluder things.

I think they are around four quid.

Matalan have a great selection of slipper socks, bed socks, fluffy socks & other toasty "toe wear". I can highly recommend them & have been buying them for a few years for myself and to give as gifts (bit of a tradition now between my best friend & I, we are top bed sock buddies & wouldn't be without them). Bed socks & ladies "slipper" type socks (pretty ladies ballerina type ones) with non-slip "blobs" on the bottom are great value at around £3 for 2 pairs. They also had some REALLY thick thermal socks for men on a red stand this year at about £5/pair & I noticed the other day they've got them for ladies this year - I know what I'll be asking Santa for!

They also have a good range for children too. Again, these are usually sold as sets of 2 pairs for just a couple of pounds - lots of snazzy seasonal ones which go down a treat - great for wearing with wellies (even better if worn over a standard pair of socks - double insulation).

    Hope this helps.

I'm sure I mentioned this in the last thread, but I thought it was worth repeating. If you work with a lot of people it may be a good idea to have some system in place to check up on each other when the weather is bad and you want to know they are getting to/from work (or a night out) safely. We spent a fortune checking up on each other last December - Where are you (now)?/Are you okay?/Are the trains running(now)? etc - and, afterwards, felt it would be better to have one or two people whom you would text and then e-mail everyone as a group once you were safely home.

It's on my mind because we readjusted our plan today because of maternity leave/other comings and goings. I would check in with the people on either side of me at work and from then on, I'd only have to try to let my line manager know if I'd be late in.
