I spotted this coat below in Monsoon on Wednesday and I so debated about buying it. It would be ideal for me for work but to be honest £90.00 (shop price £95.00 online price) seems a bit steep to me does anybody know of anything similar at all??

Stocked up on grit today, now have 3 bags of the stuff. Also got some shampoo and conditioner, trying to keep stocks up. The de-icer in A**a was going fast and the man stacking the shelf said that there was none left to put out, they were waiting for another delivery.
Treated myself to a new scarf with pockets at each end, extra warmth for my hands.
Hoping everyone is keeping warm.

Thank you, you have made feel so much better about things.:A
I have a really cold kitchen, alley down one side north facing on the front, back door and window, both double glazed, and have fleeced curtains up already ( see I have been paying attention!! ) :rotfl:
Last winter the kitchen was down to 4 which I know is not cold in some parts of the country but i'm in the south, I wondered if a mat might take off some of the chill, but it would need to be washable and not too expensive, all suggestions welcome.
Thanks
This sounds like my kitchen lol, i had some things in there almost freeze last winter, didn`t need the fridge. its the same as yours north facing open side and the wind and rain hammer against the door which leaked in last year. I have just had a radiator fitted to take the chill off but don`t intend to waste money by trying to keep it warm.
We have a concrete floor which has been just bare the last two years but i have some carpet tiles to put down this year. I just want to paint an internal door first so i don`t have any accidents with the paint and then wait and check that i`ve sealed the external door up properly so that the tiles won`t get soaked. I`ve got some old foam underlay in the shed from when i put some laminate down a few years ago in one room so i might just put that under the tiles for a bit of insulation.
Just in the doorway i have a very small area of floorboards - well if you can call them that, they have big holes in that the draft comes through so i`m looking forward to getting it all covered up.

Rising see now that just sounds sensibly warm to me lol I'm a chilly mortal at the best of times!
I'm attempting to knit a hat but may bodge it again like last years attempt which is more use as a tea cosy:rotfl:its only 2x2 rib but I lose track of my knits and purlsI should just stick to sewing..I have oodles of fleece!
Nuala  aw don't go overdoing it hun wonder if you could get any speech programmes on free trial now,you know where they write for you?? Mind you with my cockney accent god only knows what they'd type :rotfl:0 -
My kitchen is stone floored too, just got laminate over and theres no radiator in there (only got one radiator to do the sitting room/kitchen/ and none in the passage or stairs either, need stair and landing carpet too) Having a big rug in though made a difference when youre stood doing the dishes, but it is west facing so does get the sun during the day... although when the cat flap jams open its freezing!
Note to self:....... get hair off and clean cat flap so it shuts easily!
I was thinking of buying dd some lined curtains but she's a right hotty when she's asleep, I mght not bother. Even when its like 18, 19 degrees in her room I have to make sure she isnt over heating ... anyone else got a children like that?
Those bedding plants seem like a bargain, but my nastertiums are still going strong and cost nothing after the first year, so will make do. x1,2 & 5p: Christmas day food £9.31
10 & 20p: misc savings £2.70
50p: Christmas presents £3.50

Lucy - I just didnt have a good experience with the specsaver audiologist - I didnt have functioning hearing aids for 2 months from the first test. It was a part time branch in a little market town and they didnt have a hearing cenrte in the city where I work so it took forever plus the lady seemed very rushed the whole time. I will be getting the NHS ones free and I know they are made by Siemens but its the principle - the NHS should be free a point of service.
When I first started using audiology it was a drop-in, no-appointment-needed service. 12 years on it's appointments only and a good few weeks wait for that appointment. That, to me, is an indication of the increase in their workload; moving 'normal' hearing aid users like myself out means they will be able to concentrate more on those who need specialist and more intricate solutions.
I suspect also that providing free hearing aids for everyone is an untenable situation for the NHS; I'm sure there is still help for those on low incomes.... don't throw the string away. You always need string!
