I bought mine a long time ago and I think they have come down in price since then - I know they are expensive but the difference it will make to you for 6 months of the year is well worth the money ;)

I had a problem today with my lap top plug not working so thought perhaps the fuse had gone, searched my tool box..no fuses, checked all plugs of things I am not using at the moment, they were all 13 amp I needed a 5amp, don't ever remember buying any of these!
Fuses are now on my list of things to get for winter.

Tugrin THIS one looks really good value for money and the reviews are good too. To give you an idea of how difficult I am to wake up, many years ago I woke up to find a very distressed bf in my bed - he had tried waking me and thought I was dead

I have (and this is during summer too!) 3 alarm clocks inc soft sounds like birdsong going on to the next which is music and then finally the dreaded BEEPER  :rotfl: I am able to put any alarm on snooze without realising and frequently oversleep. In winter its nigh on impossible for me to wake up without my dawn simulation light.

    :D

Thanks spring and frugal - what a story about the bf!!!! eeek its a wonder he didnt go into arrest himself!
Its not so much the heavy sleeping its the dreadful depressed feeling that I wake up to when its just the radio coming on - even with classical music. Its so bad that the first 2 words out of my mouth everyday are 'oh f***' sorry I dont mean to offend anyone but that is my deepest most innermost reaction to waking up in the winter - isnt that awful - I know it says a lot about what a negative nelly I am, and thats why I thought it might be worth a try.

In a word.... Yes!!! If it can help me, it can help anyone. Trust me, I would sleep my life away during winter given half a chance :D

Thanks for the links Frugal .... seriously considering one:D

I have to say that generally I'm a morning person:o - in the summer I'm often up well before 5 and love nothing more than sitting outside enjoying the peace & quiet before a stressful day at work.

I can honestly say that I'm never still in bed when my alarm goes off for a good 8 months of the year (although I do still set it at night - just in case;))

However, getting up at 5ish in the depths of winter, when it's pitch black outside and the thought of having to go out when it's sleeting/snowing/hailing/raining/foggy/damp and IMHO the worst one - windy - just fills me with dread:(.

In the summer I only sleep a max of 5 hours a night, in winter I seem to need double that (which I never get) and am always down and knackered - and am never awake before my alarm goes off.

Seriously thinking I may have to put the heating on tonight - it was only 5 deg outside at 3 o'clock and feeling much colder now (really cold wind too)....:( really wanted to hold off until 1st Nov at the earliest but can't see the point in being absolutely frozen. Will give it another 1/2 hour and see how I'm doing (the oven is on just now which is helping a bit;))

    chirpy,

Man, that's a lot you got going on there, no wonder you feel a bit overwhelmed. Most of the things that are happening are beyond your control. It is worth trying to let go the worry of them.

Sometimes despite our best efforts life gives out a kicking, all you can do is wait for it to pass.

    Will say prayers for you.
